To show they’re not heartless bastards. Daryl Morey pulls trades out of nowhere and make players speculate whether they leave or stays. NO make sure their players know for certain they suck.

I don't consider anyone that was traded at any point in his career to be a p***y.

The Pellies are in a particularly bad place though. They are in a small market, the ownership/management aren't stellar, they don't have a legacy of winning or a strong club culture. Most of their big acquisitions to build for the future don't look all that great right now. They do still have the ability to offer Davis a bigger max contract than anyone else, and an RFA season to keep him locked up. But, without some winning, there isn't much else very compelling about sticking with them.

I'm not really trying, but KG stuck with the Twolves for years despite their inability to give him competent teammates. Bryant is sticking with the Lakers even though they suck -- though in his case it seems more like sadism than masochism. Bosh stuck with Miami even though he could have jumped on the coattails of Harden and Howard.

Pelicans have a good team, they just need some backcourt guys to spread the floor.

    Davis/Asik/Anderson at the 4/5

    Tyreke/Gordon/Rivers at the 2/3

    Holiday at PG.

It's a very good core and no old players. They should be winning more games. If something has to change, it's coaching or management. But because coaches and managers don't want to admit they suck, they will tinker with the roster.

How the hell can the Pelicans be so bad at defense when they have Davis and Asik manning the paint? We were mid pack with Asik even when Harden and Parsons weren't even trying.

    Edit:

I was wrong about their defensive rating. The are 12th in the league and their net rating is 11th which is just one behind us. I think they will start winning games once they start building some chemistry.

It's only been a month and people are giving up on Dorsey, give him time it's a new system, new coach and a new environment. He will come along during playoff time.

Well KG didn't stick long enough to get a ring though, he ok'd a trade to Boston and then to Brooklyn to contend. Bryant publicly wanted out once he ran Shaq out of town, there was a video of him ranting about how the Lakers wouldn't trade Bynum for Jermaine O'Neal. Bosh actually went to Miami to contend and left Toronto behind so I dunno why you are using them as examples

Not only that, KG, Kobe and Bosh were paid ridiculously high to stay with their teams. KG signed a 6 year 126M deal with the wolves, and his contract was so high the league instituted a player salary cap (didn't prevent him from signing another 5 year 100M deal though). Kobe stayed with the Lakers because he got 40M for two years, and Bosh is actually making close to 30M per year for the Heat. So if what you're saying is $$$>rings then yeah, Davis will stay with the Pelicans. I expect him to leave sometime later and go ring chasing though.

A player doesn't owe his entire career to a franchise. If AD signs a max extension and leaves after that's up, he's done his duty to the Pels. 7-8 years is long enough.
