I think I mighta played with you on Ghost Recon or NFL2K3, I'm StevieFranchise. I don't really play Live that much cuz there's not really any good live games and most of my playing time is taken up by 8 person system links on Halo.
You probably did on Ghost Recon, its the only game that I play consistently on live, it's kind of fun. I do play 2k3 on occassion but not very much. You're righ that there aren't too many great Live games, I wish brute force was live. Guess we just have to wait till Halo 2 for a great live game.
I don't have x box live. How do you like it? How does it work? How many people are logged into it and how do you find each other? How do you know how good your opponent is. My worst fear would be getting into a game and geting slaughtered by some nerd everytime. Can you talk to each other?
Yeah... and did u know Halo 2 was delayed to spring or summer 04 after originally being slated to come out this winter. You know Microsoft is gonna try and make more money and just go ahead and push it back to winder 04 to add some "features". By then my free year of Live will have run out and I haven't heard of there being a monthly payment option for Live, so the $50 I dished out will have been a waste for me personally. I still think though that Live is a great addition to the system and everyone that owns an Xbox should play it.
For the good game that use it, it's a great feature. The way it works is broadband (DSL, Cable) only, so that reduces the lag greatly. There are lobbies that you go to and you just pick the room you want. Some games show what region of the country the host is in, some just say their lag with green, yellow, or red. I think a few hundred thousand units of Xbox Live have been purchased and there are friend lists so you can easily find anyone you've played with. Some games show opponents records (NFL2K3 for example) so you can get idea of who you're playing. You should buy Live if you're serious about playing, it's free for the first year of subscription.
It's ok, it's like 50 a year. I haven't played that much cause I only have 3 live-compatible games, though I will get more evntually. Most games have an optimatching system so you can just search for the games that you want, or host one on your own, I usually host one, and people join up pretty quick. The learning curve is pretty steep though, you have to play the games a lot cause I get my ass kicked on ghost recon a lot of the time by people who are just better. you can talk to people but I usually turn it off cause a lot of times its just a bunch of dorks swearing at each other and talking trash.
I am on Live, actually, i was a beta tester and have had it since last September. I dont play it that much but at $50 for a whole year, its still worth it. I have NFL 2K3, NFL Fever 2003, NBA 2K3, Unreal Champioship, Mech Assault, and going to buy Capcom vs. SNK 2 cause I hear the price went down to $30. As for the pricing I hear that you can renew it for $50 for a whole year, or go month to month for $8-9, which I still think is still a great deal. I was expecting the worst at something like $10-15 a month. If yall want to play me, I under the handle "Dave2000". I know that there are a few other members on here that have it like Sonny.
I play as "Surfguy". However, I don't play as much anymore. Last one I played is Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Others I have played are MotoGP, Mech Assault, and Unreal Championship.
