As long as they wear white lab coats and utilize precision engineering, I'm down.

In hopes of locating a somewhat different perspecive, I went back to look for some of the circa ABCD camp info. Here's an example, taken from ESPN:

Badiane become a perfect fit for the Rocks, a good future product that will make some of our players expendable down the road.

After one scout have said about his ability to be like stoudimire was just a tiny gap. PRICELESS!!!

I've loved everthing I've read about the guy so far, but I wish we could get some footage of him on the court to get a better look of how fluid he is on the court.

I think you nailed this one. Good pick - win, win, or draw.

The Germans already did that with people in the whole Nazi Eugenics thing. I don't know if you're up on your history, but it didn't go over too well.

That's a good point, but also remember Cuttino Mobely went 41st, and he's better than that. Maybe the reason Malick fell to 44 was because little is klnown about him, hell we don't even know his age. So I think since little is known about him he could be a really good pick or just abother 44er...

"A possible scenario would be, that Badiane gets picked in the late 1st or in the beginning of the 2nd round and play one or two more years in Europe to develop."

    http://www.africabasket.com/sen/sen.asp?NewsNo=54

Is that why Malick has dropped so low?.. because he won't be available for a couple of years?

Look at the guy! He's a f***in toothpick if there ever was one. I know elementary schoolers with more muscular legs than that. If he plays next season, he won't be of much use around the rim.

Remember all the draft hype around Olumide Oyedeji and how he was Dirk's teammate in Germany and how he might be even better than Dirk? He's been in the NBA 3 years now and done nothing.

They should have drafted the other Chinese guy if for no other reason than to make Colin Pine earn his paycheck :)

Tell me if this makes sense:

1.Player (a). Lazy,no heart, smokes pot. player is 21,so lets be patient with him and "let him learn on the job" and "get MORE playing time to grow" and "give him ONE more year."

2.Player(b).Scouts compare him to Amare.Would "kill" Ebi and Villenueva.player is 19 and should be shipped off to europe for 2 years and let his contract expire and never play him and let another team teach him.

and yet by the infinite wisdom on this board, most on this board would choose player a over b . Makes sense. and yet, even with that thought process, the fans who would choose player (a) actually think they should make a post thinking someone will listen to them. Some advice: Dont quit your dayjobs people.

Yeah, but wouldn't you be happy with Keon Clark? Ever look at his stems? How about Chris Bosh? We could really get crazy with a "skinny legs" rant.

Least EG is somewhat proven and we can see that he can grow into something more. None of us have ever seen Badiane play and he could be a totally uncoordinated Oaf (sp?).

Lol thumbs, thanks for makin me see the light.

I am glad with rockets drafting for followings reason :

    1) Collier's ( $1,369,440) and Terence Morris's ($512,435) has expired this year. Just like every other team rockets need a 3rd center / 3rd pf incase yao, cato, griffen or taylor miss a or they get in a serious foul troulbe. Malick Badiane ( $136,374 one year contarct) comes cheap. Badiane can be that 3rd center / 3rd pf. I think he will get Collier's and Morris's Minutes. His stats will be 2ppg, 1rpg and 5 mins a game next year of not better.

    2) With Collier and Morris gone, I hope rockets also get rid of Titto Maddox and Hawkins ( their contracts expire this year too). This will increase our cap even more which is 7 mil now to about 10mil. Rockets need a gaurd and currently gaurds like Payton, Kidd, Arenas ( who avg 18ppg 6 rpg 6apg last year and willing to playt with Denver for 7 mil a year). I would also recommend rockets to consider a big gaurd ( atleast 6 7') to increase size in back court and improve defense. Mobley and Francis shoudl play 38 mins a game instaed of 41. The other gaurd will be able to play 20 mins a game. Francis and Mobley will be less tired and play better. Yao , Francis, Mobley, Arenas or any good gaurd = championship

    3) This guys might be a steal. Badiane is clearly a undersized center so teams who needed a center let him go. Teams who need a pf might have taken him but all the pf taken before him are good offense players. They chose offense over defense. All we know about Badiane is that he is a good Defender. Not alot of teams like rocket need a defender and a 3rd center / pf. He is young ( 19 or 22) , 6 11', 230lbs, 34 1/2 inches vertical, 7 4' wing span. Badiane most probably will never be a good offensive player but he will be a good defensive player.

I think rockets should try to make a championship run within next 2 years becuase then Yao's cheap rookie contract will expire and he will take up more cap space. GET a gaurd like kidd, Arenas, Payton, Maggette, Steven Jackson, and many more who are free agents this year please and go for the gold.

I completely agree. I think the Rockets should go for the big move this summer, we want a championship. I don't think we can keep this team together much longer if we keep losing. Some experience would be nice... an excellent pg, and get rid of the overpaid players that aren't contributing [enough]... (mooch, cato)

This guy is exactly what we need at powerfoward. A good defender who can move his feet block shots and rebound. To bad he isn't here now.

Ahhhhwwwggrrrr! When will you stop awarding laurels BEFORE they are earned? I hope he is the second coming of the Dream but, pul-ease be realistic. He is not a #1 or a #2 or a #3...or even a #43 pick. He was selected at #44 and has some dues to pay -- like demonstrating his ability first.
