It looks like UCONN should get to the final four next year. Their lineup is sick. Emeka Charlie Denem Brown/Rashad Anderson Ben Gordon Taliek Brown
As long as everyone doesn't try to be a star, they should be Final 4 material. Zona, Duke, and UConn should be the top 3.
The only problem I would have with Villanueva is he's made it clear that's he's out to improve his stock and that might not exactly mesh well with Calhoun and UConn's overall mindset. Plus he'll probably need 2 years before he's a lottery pick and i doubt he understands that. But the fact they have the most dominant player in college basketball (Emeka) is probably gonna erase all of that. He's easily the no. 1 pick next year (if not podkolzine) and he comes out with a degree.
Uconn will win it all they clearly have the best team and with Ford being a such a dumbass and going to the NBA that leaves Uconns main competitor screwed.
Are you talking about TJ Ford? He'll be the top PG selected in the draft on Thursday and staying in school likely would not have improved his stock, since the main question with him is his frame. UConn may be tough to beat next year, but saying TJ Ford made a stupid mistake is just, well...dumb.
Emeka Okafor is going to put up some huge numbers. I think he is the best big man to come out of college since Tim Duncan.
Okafor will put up big rebounding and block numbers, but I would be surprised if Okafor avg more than 17 ppg.
Agree, but it's not like he isn't capable. The team just has so much offensive skill that people don't get to see how much talent he has with the ball in his hands.
Most of his points seem to come when someone drives and dishes to him for an open dunk. Not to fault the guy, but he's not really a go-to guy down low. Though he does have a nice hook shot.
There are at least 4-5 future first rounders on that team. More like the 96 Kentucky team (with Antoine Walker, Walter McCarty, Derek Anderson, Ron Mercer and Tony Delk) than the Blazers.
I think Uconn looks like the favorites with Ford and Ebi being drafted. But in the NCAA college turney the best teams often lose to the hottest and luckiest teams. I would bet anyone even money Uconn doesn't win the title next year.
I don't know how much of an impact Ebi would have had at UA this season. I think he would have been a backup. UA, Duke, and UConn should be the 3 favorites.
I think there is a big gap in all around talent with Uconn from the rest. Duke still lacks the offense and defense in the post and Arizona will be young and at the 4 spot will be without much depth and questionable quality. I am pretty sure Ebi would have been the starting 4 over the molasus slow Fox and Rfresh Dunn--unless Lute went really small with Igudala at the 4. Again though, more often than not the best team doesn't win the NCAA tourney. I'll tell you a team that will be exceptional next year, Gonzaga. Turiaf is a great force in the interior on both sides of the ball, Stepp is a fine talent on the outside, and they have other role players and size as well. They may have the best balance of experience, size and dispersed quality throughout the line-up this side of Uconn. Could be as tough as any to beat in the turney.
Recent champioins (like Syracuse) have shown us that so long as depth is merely adequate, its having the best players on the floor that counts. Okafor and Gordan are definitely All-America. Villanueva could be.
Starting lineup C-Okafore-best player in college Pf-Villenueva-possibly the best rookie next year Sf-Brown-Great athletic ability and a good shot Sg-Gordon-one of the best shooters in the NCAA pg-Brown-Great point guard and leader. Bench- Rashard Anderson- The next Ben Gordon he was amazing off the bench last year as a freshman. Marcus White- Best athlete and second best rebounder on Uconn. Chad Wise- Hes a good shooter and backup to taliek Brown Justin Brown-Im not sure if hes still their but hes 7-0 tall and at times is a massive force downlow They have another freshman too that I cant think of who started a couple of games for them at Pf until White became such a force downlow.
