    I like this guy
HE plays tough defense and hustles
I think he is a DECENT backup 2

    I would take an upgrade but . . . .. . ..
I think with Mobley and Hawk
We are not *that* bad off.

As long as he is cheap, I'm all for it.

Hawkins is the only guard the Rockets have comitted to playing defense. They have to resign him.

If he come cheap, we should take him. It's not like he will have a major impact but he is a descent defensive player.good 10 to 15 minutes playing sounds reasonable enough to me.

i think hawk will not demand big bucks coz he knows he's not worth being payed like overpayed asses of mooch, rice, mot, and cato. i bet we can get him cheap and im with yall guys to resign him! i was surprised he didnt get much playing time i expected last season coz he really played tremendous defense and he never did nothing but be a bench warmer with tmo and boki. i think with JVG, he will be seeing more playing time.

Yeah Hawk is a great role player for the stretch run the Rockets will be going through this year in the playoffs.

I agree, as long as he comes cheap - BUT he should also take less shots than he did last year when he was in. He seemed to brick too many.

As long as he shows the same intensity as he did last season, it will be obvious that Van Gundy will want him back...

I don't see Morris or Collier back next season...

When your open from 18ft in the NBA with 5 seconds on the shot clock you've pretty much got to take that shot. Even Bo Outlaw is forced to throw those up every now and then.

What sucks is someone posted that JVG is only going to watch the games since Posey came to the Rockets. If this is true, then he won't see the Portland game at the Summit where Hawkins was instrumental in sparking the Rockets to victory.

Yeah good point...even Langhi attempted a few shots over his career haha

Hawk will definitely come cheap, no worries about that.

Hawk better be coming back. And he needs more pt this season, lessen mobley's minutes a little and let him play the 2. I hope Morris comes back too.

Francis/Norris (can we pick up Price here?)
    Mobley/Hawkins
    Posey?/TMo/Nachbar/Rice
    Griffin/MoT/Badiane?
    Ming/Cato

I dunno if Posey will be coming back, half of me hopes he will, but the other half hopes he doesn't. I'm fine with TMo starting at the 3, and if matchups permit Hawkins at the 3 isn't so bad an idea either. If we could rid the team of Norris, Rice, and MoT (only if and after Badiane comes to play with the Rox and shows himself to be the baller we hope he is) that would be great.

I tend to agree. The team definitely can't afford to throw money at Hawkins. I will say though that Hawkins' on court attitude is something the rest of the Rockets players should really watch and try to emulate. Hawkins plays with more aggressiveness than most of his teammates. He just doesn't have the skills to do much more than scrap in this league.

JH is a decent player at a very cheap price, but we are getting what we paid for.

IMO, I'd rather upgrade our reserve 2 to afford Cat more time on the bench. Cat played good D last year and whoever we get should too (and be able to hit an open shot with some consistancy).
