ClutchFans Game Thread: Sixers @ Rockets 11/14/2014

Man, we dodged one tonight. Couldn't watch because of the Comcast situation, but that should be the last time. Glad to get the win regardless.

 

Our bench has been playing well all season and after the fist game they dont you are already clamoring for a trade? Jesus....

 

Also have had multiple starters out....

 

Even with the bench playing well, there are still weaknesses that need to be addressed. Backup C/PF and a PG.

 

When everyone has an offnight, you know it's the schedule.

Man, it was good to see the Rockets had it in them to gut out a win.

It was more the fear of having the reputation of being the first to lose to the 76ers than having that 2nd loss that kept them fighting.

Good to see they have some pride in them.

 

The Rockets have good bench players that can sub in seamlessly with the starters but as a whole unit it sucks.

 

Backup C i agree, i might be the only one that thinks Pat/Cannan and TJ/Dmo will be fine for us. They will get better and they are only needed to be good role players not stars.

Until the Rockets get one tbh.

 

When opponents tie up Howard with 2, 3 guys, DMo has got to punish them by going to the boards and getting garbage points.

We should also high post Dwight and send our wings to drive into the lane. Problem is Ariza doesn't have the handles and Papa is slow. Our wings are really 3pt shooters.

So Canaan should have that job description along with Harden to break down the defense with Howard drawing out the 76er bigs.

 

I was talking about DMo post game as his biggest strength. The Rockets are not using it in this start of season, and it would balance our offense.

Harden is going to be burned in April the way we're using him. In my opinion, as a coach of a contending team you gotta priorize the long term, and get care of your best player. And getting care is not only about benching him at garbage time. It is also about making things easier for him offensively, setting plays off the ball to recieve with an advantage created, to play 1on1 near the basket.... and trying to use different weaponn during the game to make your offense less predictable, and to have your superstar fresh for the end of the games.

 

I just got back from the game. A Lot of mysterious offensive fouls called. Missing 13 FT, lazy passes, and poor shooting overall, we were fortunate to win. Defense kept us in it. We had poor transition defense though allowing a couple coast to coast slam dunks.

Our bench is very weak. I never want to see Garcia play meaningful minutes again.

 

Our offense is horrible if 3 pointers aren't falling.

 

Inconsistent bench. Garcia. Black. Kpap. Daniels (if he plays) are inconsistent. Only terry and dmo (when he is on bench) are consistent.

 

Harden w/ another 30 Burger night.

 

just be patient. On RGV news, Earl Clark had 30 pts in Vipers' 1st game of the seaon. RGV also won by 1 pt.
