Lol at being so uncreative you have to use my material. It must be extremely lonely in your mom's basement. That Lin snuggie has accumulated many tears Keep waving those pom poms. I honesty feel bad for you
ok, guys, back to news on Lin, oh lookie here, since's he's in LA, he gets an ESPN article http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/lakers/post/_/id/40372/3-points-maximizing-jeremy-lins-minutes 1. Should Jeremy Lin's minutes be maximized during times when Kobe Bryant is on the bench? Holmes: Right now, the Lakers don't have too many scoring options on the perimeter (or in general, really), so when Bryant is out, it would be great to see Lin take it upon himself to shoulder more of the scoring load, to be more aggressive on that end. Taking that approach would no doubt boost his overall confidence, which appears to have been up and down early in the season as he adjusts to playing with Bryant. SportsNation Should the Lakers plan Jeremy Lin's minutes around times when Kobe Bryant is sitting out? 73% Yes 4% No 23% It shouldn't matter Discuss (Total votes: 492) Shelburne: Yes. The original plan was for Lin to come off the bench because he has been most successful in his NBA career playing in the more uptempo style the Lakers' second unit prefers. But that plan went out the window when Steve Nash was ruled out for the season with recurring back and nerve injuries. Instead Lin is the starter, and it's clear it's taking some time for him to learn how to play with Bryant. The key for Lin is aggressiveness. The Lakers want him to orchestrate their offense, not look for Bryant and then run the offense. The more times he is on the court where Bryant isn't even a thought in his mind, the more muscle memory he can develop in that role. Markazi: Yes, but he needs to be aggressive and play to his strengths no matter if Bryant is on the court or not. What is happening now is Lin is a different player when Bryant's on the floor. He isn't as aggressive and isn't the player the Lakers need him to be when Bryant is controlling the ball. That needs to change if the Lakers are going to be anything more than a vehicle for Bryant to win the scoring title this season.
That's interesting, because so far he is pretty efficient in the PG category. He has the lowest FGA among starting PG though.
the lakers would do themselves well, if they had an asik. I would suggest a beast for a center but where in the world could you find one of those ? hmmmmm? they just don't fall on your lap =) as for lin, if you don't have a bias against him, he is playing good basketball lately. when he goes 4/5 from the field it's not good enough because he only scored 12 points. a good player would have gone 5/5 on all 3s! however Lin or boozer, one of those has got to go to the bench and relieve that unit. the other teams' bench outscores them 2x every night. watching the suns the other night(i love gogi too), i was amazed at thomas, not because he scored 9 points on 11 shots but because he could shoot 11 times in 16 minutes. by bias standards eric bledsoe sucks. should be in the nbdl truth is his fgs are at 9 a game. again, impossible for him to score more. it'll be interesting to see how it all ends in phoenix, one of those three will have to sacrifice less attempts. it seems like it's bledsoe. If I was PHX, I trade Gogi to houston for basketball reasons. no bias there.
The Lakers really sux this year. They have one of the worse defensive in the league. Lin seems to be playing much like he was for us last year. One good game, one bad game. Still inconsistent.
This x100. Offense looks ugly but they have a couple pick and pop bigs who can score, Kobe isolations, and both Kobe and Lin getting to the stripe. Davis is a good finisher. With Davis and Hill doing putbacks, the Kobe assist is a regularly thing too. The games I've watched are wierd. They start up the game shooting 30% and end up down by double digits in the first half. By the end of the game they've bumped their FG% back up to around 50% and are back in the game. Lakers have no problem scoring over 100 points. But they can't contain a team under 100 either. The one time they did was the only game they won.
Hold the Fing horses tinman! A Lakers blog posting an article about a Lakers player? Mother of god!! It's like Clutch posting an article about Dwight Howard. Those dirty ESPN bastards! What next? Mark Cuban honoring Dirk for passing up Hakeem in scoring? Dude/dudette. You post more in this thread than any other thread on the forum.
Isiah Thomas, ouch. But he plays for a better team so it really doesn't matter. The Lakers, one of the worst in the West.
Generally, the worst team has the toughest schedule (because everyone is ranked above them) and the best team has the easiest schedule (because everyone is ranked below them). In other words, unless the Lakers stop sucking, at the end of the season they're still going to being saying they had the toughest schedule, because they played superior teams every single game.
So far they've played the Rockets, Suns twice, GSW, Pelicans, Clippers, Memphis, and Hornets which they beat. 4 of the first 5 games were b2b. Coming up they've got the Spurs tonight, GSW, Hawks, Rockets on a b2b, and Mavs. The Lakers suck but that schedule is tough period. Rockets first 4 games for comparison were the Lakers, Jazz, Sixers, and Celtics and you play the Sixers again tonight.
if the lakers played the lakers would they lose? it is a tough schedule but they can't complain. they used to get easy schedules with little back to backs in 2009/2010/2011 and not to mention the special treatment they'd get from their wolf, joe crawford.
Exactly. Boozer makes me mad. No effort on D, on rebounds, on setting picks for teammates. And when the ball is passed to him, he never gives it up. he is going to take the shot, no matter how contested the jumper. The kind of teammate that makes you want to give up on trying to be a good teammate yourself, because what's the point.
