Then who's the starting PG? Moochie or some FA pickup? There's no good free agent point guards cept Kidd and we can't get him. If we were do that trade, I doubt they'd go for another blockbuster to get a good PG. No thanks

I say if I had a choice of Francis or Pierce I'de pick Pierce. Its clear that Francis is not a pg. Part of being a good pg is making good decisions with the ball. A natural feel for seeing the court. Francis is not a PG by any means. Can he be another Iverson type small 2 guard? Maybe. But that kind of thing hardly happens since zone was put in. Whats hard for fans to see is that Yao's game and Steve's are totally different. If Steve is a future superstar he'de at least of gotten us into the playoffs at least once. i dont know my opinion of Steve has changed since last season. If we had put a playmaker on our team we would of made it ,and Yao would of had ROY honors. Having two all stars and not even making the playoffs is ridiculous and one thing is for certain things are going to change.
I'll see pigs fly before I ever see J.O'neil or Elton brand in a rockets uniform. It will never happen, unless you give up something you wont be willing to part with. And thats the NBA way.

Completey agree with you, I would also like to add that I hate Pierce's game.

Hell no, T-Mac is better than Dirk! T-Mac is awesome, I would say he's better than Kobe. T-Mac is right beneath Duncan and Garnett.

Anyways, I'd take Francis and Griffin over Pierce any day. NO to this trade.

    "Oh, Steve is young......."

    BULL SH*T ! !

Many of you who voted for Steve either b/c you have not seen much of Pierce or you are not paying too much attention.

How many of you actually knew that Pierce is YOUNGER than Stevie? There will come a time when you will have to face the facts, Steve is not a great player. He is good at best, and I hesitate to say that b/c he is a good individual player but he hampers his team.

I would trade Francis for Pierce in an instant!

    Paul:

    1) has helped his team to the playoffs more than once
    2) he has a position (actually 2 that he plays, and well)
    3) bigger
    4) stronger
    5) better shooter
    6) better defender
    7) better rebounder
    8) better scorer

and most of all he is

    9) a better player than Steve Francis

    Francis:
    1) has a cute catchy nick name that does not fit

...ANY DAY AND OVER AGAIN ! ! !

1.Pierce is also a tweener. He is to slow to play sg,and he doesnt crash the boards to be a great sf. He always hangs out on the three point line. Theres a reason why the rockets have beaten the C's almost every time in the matchups of Steve vs Paul

2.Steve can be a great pg,just that Rudy was so r****ded Steve never had a offense game plan, and our shooters wont make a basket. Plus, the offense Rudy ran, even if shooters hit their shots,it wouldnt count as an assist because of the iso's of every player in Rudys half-ass system.

    3.Paul is ugly.LOL

4.Griffin has some trade value, but I wouldnt even do a Francis straight up for Pierce trade.

5.Of course Paul is bigger. He is not a pg. Thats irrelevent. Its like saying Mobley is better than Iverson because he is bigger and stronger.

    6. Celtics make the playoffs because of the weak east. Every one knows this. Get a clue. How many east teams need to get hammered in the finals before people realize the west is 10x more powerful. The celtics are a WORSE team than rockets. Even when they resort to literally triple teaming Ming,we still beat them.

7.Paul isnt exactly known for his great D. Posey is a better sf Defender than Pierce. And Rice is on par with his three point shooting as Pierce. If we had Pierce he would NOT set up his teammates,he would not grab boards,he would literally be our new Bullard or Rice.

    c'mon y'all.

we all know steve is really a ball dominating 2 guard. so who is the better 2 guard, steve or paul pierce? is this even a question?? i mean really! if you think steve is a better player than paul pierce, you're a serious, serious homer.

You must be crazy if you think Paul is a selfish player.

This guy can drive into three defenders AND pass the rock right to his open man. He is one of the best Drive-and-kick playmakers in the entire NBA.

A much better defender and shooter, I'd take Paul in a hearbeat ... if we can find a good PG in the draft or FA market.

I think it would be interesting to see how Pierce stacked up in games against the West vs. games against the East. I bet after looking at that a lot of people might think differently about him. Not saying he's not a good player, but playing in the East just isn't the same thing, so it's hard to compare him with Stevie.

BTW, how many of y'all think the Suns or us would beat the Celtics in a 7 game series? I do. They play in a very poor conference so making it to the second round isn't that impressive.

    WARNING:

You need to choose your battles carefully, oh and also know what hte hell you are talking about!

You lose all credibility when you suggest another player is a "tweener" in a comparison to Franchise.

Pierce by most accounts is a SG, but I will hear you out on this. About the boards:

Do you consider Rashard a good SF? FOR THE RECORD, Pierce has better rebound numbers than Lewis. As a matter of fact as a he would rank 3rd in the league in rebounds as a SF (INCLUDING GARNETT AS A SF) and ranked #1 amongst SG.

So now it has gotten to the level that you blame other people? What about all of this advice that Franchise seeks? Why has that not sunken in?

Several times I heard Rudy state what he preached was not being executed, which is a good reason for him to be fired. Maybe he doesn't listen, or maybe he just does not get it.

Francis is hot? Does he give you a chubby?

What is your point? You would not trade Franchise for him straight up but you would trade Franchise & Griffin

Nor is Franchise. So look at it as us getting "bigger & stronger" at the 2.

    Franchise is

Pierce is a SG, and would play there in that trade scenario. Posey would be a nice compliment

Shooting guards are not usually your better assist men (see Kobe, Mobley ect). Pierce is a better rebounder than is Franchise and they play the same position so again the Rockets would get a:

    bigger
    stronger
    better shooter
    better defender
    better rebounder
    better scorer
    ...than Franchise

You just showed all just how little you know about basketball.
