The Rockets are not getting T.J. Ford. Stevie is our point guard, plain and simple. I wish you guys would get over this notion all ready. You just can't move the best point guard in the league with out a more than reliable stand in. The Rockets biggest goal is to find a hard nosed pf that can bang inside.
Hey your biggest goal is to stop reading Anthony Robbins and telling me what the Rockets biggest goal is and then you can buy some detergent and wash Steve Francis's jock. a guy like TJ Ford will deprogram that whole YMCA basketball thought system. You know Im fIIcken with you man.
I'm having a hard time believing that your not roggering me. Aren't you the one that said that Francis was the worst thing that could have ever had happened to the Rockets? All I can say to you is that #2 for #13 is not that bad.
Yo Roc Paint, I did say that. The truth is I am the greatest computer-chair-point-guard in jamaica beach galveston. ; )
Today is the day we find out. Personaly I think Heinrich fits our needs better than Ford(Taller,D,3 pts threat...) ALA
4 years on this bbs and i've only put one person on my ignore list....and that was KeepJuaquin (aka LiTlEy90210 or whatever, and SLA, etc.), because his up and down posting style drives me crazy. Yetti will never make it on my ignore list because, while i agree with sydmill about he & his ilk dragging the bbs down, i can actually laugh at Yetti. that said, i do think tj ford would be an incredible addition to the rockets. those that speculate about our defense need to consider that we have 2 shotblockers down low (griff, yao) and a excellent defender at the 3 (posey). it's not that difficult to get ford and francis to funnel their men to the middle (or baseline, depending on matchups). other than that, what's the defensive concern with ford/francis? postups? who cares. how many times have you seen an nba team get beat because their point guard kept getting posted up?
if we can not get both TJFORD and E.Brand , can we at least get Earl Boykins and Jermaine O' NEAL...?
i didn't say i wanted him on the rox (although i wouldn't neccessarily object), i just said i liked him.
I personally think that the TJ FORD issue has been argued/rambled on for quite a while. I've read every single one of the comments and I cannot help but notice repeats after repeats. Since I'm a supporter for guys like TJ, and no one seem to have shared my view on this, I want to place my thoughts here. 1. Issue: Rockets (as well as any team) drafts/trades not only because they need help, but more importantly, win a championship. And so far, characteristics required to win a championship isn't about having the quickest backcourt or the smallest guard defense, but teamwork. And that is why I like about TJ. Think in terms of the 94, 95 Rockets. Think of the recent nets. Think of the prospective favorites this year (Sac Kings), all of these teams have team work. Therefore, I don't think it's necessarily getting all the rebounds, getting all the blocks, in other words, it's not about statistics. Teamwork is a skill that must be scouted more often b/c too much hype is placed on personal stats such as LeBron and others. By no means, I think these guys are great, and do not doubt on their abilities. But when I look at draft picks/trades, let's not place too much on immediate change. Let the team develop, and pick up a guy like TJ that helps them do that. Let's face it, I am a diehard Rockets fan, but I'm sure they aren't gonna win a champion anytime soon, even with Jermaine Oneal or Rasheed Wallace. Those players are great, but let's start at the beginning step and get a guy with vision. And that by far: is what the Rockets need. Guys that can win together. With that in mind, I don't think drafting TJ will be a bad pick in any way. Since he's the best guy for that in the draft. So let's drop the debate whether he's too small or being the passer. Instead, let's think for the LONG RUN and let the guy play and develop a team with chemistry and with title contendership. Bacteria
I would think after watching the Rockets pitiful fast breaking ability for the last few years people would be hungry for a guy like TJ Ford. I would love to get him here. Think of all the easy shots he could create for Yao, Eddie, Posey, Cat, etc.
actually, i think he was.... but, really, what difference does that make? hell, chris jackson was a better guard than steve nash in college. but was he a better nba player? college success (or lack of) does not necessarily transfer to the nba.
I guess you couldn't think of anything to say, so you just clicked the pretty pictures several times. Good work. But wait, it doesn't end there. You then post again, with more pretty pictures! I'm still waiting for a 'reply' from Yetti.
