Mexico needs serious help from another country, they no longer have control and should quit pretending like it's 'their' country anymore. The cartels seem to run that place...it's pathetic and makes the Mexican govt look like a bunch of incompetent wussies.

I was born in the state of Guerrero but my parents brought me to this great land when I was 3 and I am forever grateful. According to what I have heard from my uncles who grew up there and are up to date on the latest, corruption is rampant in Guerrero. The cartel runs things, unfortunately.

The money that runs the cartels and fuels the corruption? Yep, for the most part, that's ours.

Things just aren't the same in my home state of Guerrero. Even in the small town were I was born, I hear stories from trusted sources that the narco sicarios patrol the town in late model trucks and interrogate all of those who come in at gunpoimt. They say as long as you mind your own business you should be ok. Messed up but that's just the way it is down there. Makes me not want to visit, ever.

Yep. The US is a major consumer, no doubt.

I don't get surprised by anything that happens in Mexico anymore. I don't blame them for leaving in droves. If America had the same issues, we all would leave too.
It's hopeless for Mexicans and its a shame because natives are the nicest/friendliest/most genuine people I have ever met.

    Money runs everything, everywhere.

The bad thing about Mexico is that the labor for big drugs are bad, bad people, and they're empowered to do whatever they want.

And why would the government there want change? They're on the dole, too, so they turn a blind eye to the drug-related crime.

This is bad ju-ju and I'm sure these gangsters will be dealt with internally. Even drug kingpins have to manage public perception.

Very sad and it's likely that the U.S. wil never intervene unless provoked. And even then I fear that the cartels would bring the war here across the border. But at the end of the day the cartels' main goal is money. And a fight vs the U.S. military and or intelligence agencies would be bad for business.

If U.S won't get involve, I would love to see other countries like Brazil to intervene and wipe these dirtbags from the face of the earth.

We need a Made in America movement in the US drug market. Don't buy any pot, meth, crack or any other drug that doesn't carry the USA-C seal.

Maybe they killed them because they misspelled some words and missed some periods in their sentences.

    The story:

The 43 students from a rural teachers college disappeared on Sept. 26 in Iguala, 120 miles south of Mexico City. They had traveled there to collect money and steal buses for transportation to a demonstration. According to authorities, the town’s mayor feared the students would disrupt a speech by his wife, so he told the police to stop them. The police ambushed them, engaged in a shootout that left six people dead, and then turned the students over to members of a drug gang who killed them, burned their bodies and erased much of the evidence.

They need to legalize drugs and let the invisible hand do something useful for once.
