Something truly special is in the works.
Yao and Stevie got without saying
Posey, Mobley, and Cato are the next level
Nachbar and Griffen, Mo T are the next level
    Collier, Rice, moochie
    other bench warmers

    1. Yao and Steve - Definate Keepers - unless it nets you a SURE THING
    2. Posey, Mobley and Cato - Keys to next season hard to part with
    3. Nachbar, Griffen and Mo T - so much potential. so tempted to wait some more. . . . would hate to see them blossom else where
    4. Collier Rice and Moochie - solid Cogs .. nothing more
    5. blah blah blah

Here are the levels I see for our team in terms of tradability.

    1) Yao and Francis are our two cornerstones. They of course have tremendous trade value but there is no way we trade either of them.

    2) Mobley and Griffin are probably at the next level. Both have decent contracts. Mobley is a good value at the size of his contract and is just a notch below and all star player. Griffin has loads of "potential" and is still young. Posey could be included here but since he is a FA I am not including him in this analysis

    3) Rice, Cato, and Nachbar. Rice has an expiring contract that in these days of NBA contracts seems to be very valuable (perhaps because of this he could be moved up to level 2). Cato's contract is decent in terms of NBA Centers even though he is overpaid. His production improved this year so his value rised a bit. Nachbar hasn't shown anything yet but at the same time hasn't had a chance to do so. Nevertheless he still is one year removed from being the 15th pick in the NBA draft so he has some value.

    4) Mo Taylor. He has an albatross of a contract and is only a year removed form coming back form his injury. While he has a decent amount of talent he needs more time to show to other teams that he is not injury prone. He still is trying to get back his explosiveness. His contract makes him tough to move I think. If he can get back to his original form from a few years ago I think he will be easier to move in a package deal.

    5) Norris, Morris, Hawkins and Collier are all pretty much in the same boat at the end of the bench. Norris has to be the toughest to move as he did NOTHING last year and still was making decent money. Norris only gets moved as a throw in to a trade.

Yao is untouchable regardless of the offer.

Everybody else is bait and can be had. QED.

so, RR, you just misspell Griffin's name on purpose, don't you?

Yes. great analysis. That's what I pretty much think...

Except GriffIn.....doesn't seem to be too interested in getting better.

Just like you like to do it with Nowitzki, don't you? Nice to see that it bugs you as well when someone does that.

Nitwitz is not a misspelling. It is a nickname.

If only one person uses it, is it a nickname already? Naah...you just don't know how to type :).

    1. Yao.
    - Plays the center position that is deserted in the current NBA.
    - Huge potential with lots of room for further improvement.
    - Is young (22) and on a rookie contract that all GMs love.
    - Marketeer and owner's dream ($$)

The only guy I would trade Yao for right now is Tim Ducan.

    2. Francis.
    - Not as desirable to other teams as Yao due to his contract and the possibility that he has hit his prime already. That said, I would not trade him unless its for the likes of Kobe, McGrady, Pierce and some other top players.

    3. Griffin.
    - Similar to Yao in many ways (young with potential and on a rookie contract) but more exposed and obviously a lot less desirable. But there are GMs out their who would still take the chance of trading quality players to us for Griffin, hoping that he fufills his "potential".

    4. Mobley
    - On a very friendly contract and is a known scorer. Downside is that some negative press he has got over the past year hasn't helped his trade value.

The others doesn't command much value in the market. Maybe Rice with his expiring contract for teams who desperately wants to create cap space, but that is about it.

And no teams would take Taylor or Moochie due to their long and expensive contract unless its for the likes of Vin Baker :D

    -G'day-

I definitely can misspell with the best of them. I don't mean to sound annoyed by RR, just that he has a history of misspelling Griffin with people correcting him (see his earlier thread today), and he continues. I'm curious is he does it on purpose.
