Great game for Ariza. I wonder what his 3pt percentage will be by the end of the season.

 

his shooting has been nothing short of incredible through the first 4 games. He's fit in perfectly - passing well, playing had on D, spacing the floor, making his layups and free throws. Can't be happier about his addition. It's just gonna take some of the bench stepping up or being traded for an upgrade for this team to be truly elite.

Obviously that percentage is going to come down but I'm very pleased with Trevors 3 pt shooting and defense so far. Ahhhhh it feels nice having a 40+% 3 pt shooter with good defense. I really was not a huge fan of him his first time around Houston but he know his role and fits extremely well with this team.

Ariza shot .407 from 3 last year.

Maybe his shot got better. I would be completely ecstatic if he could shoot above 0.400 this year. That is elite for a 3 point shooter.

 

he's getting wide open shots too which is a great sign for the team

this team will continue to feed him open threes and it's great he can hit them at a high percentage. He's not forcing a lot of action like his last stint

 

Playing solid ball. Exactly what I hoped would happen. We just have to play even better against better competition and that is exactly what these next few games presents to us. Hopefully Pat Bev is healthy for the Heat game. Gotta D up Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers.

 

All summer, the narrative was that (A) Ariza only got his corner 3s because John Wall is awesome and he creates corner 3s out of thin air and (B) Ariza only shot well because it’s a contract year and he’ll never duplicate that success. Thankfully, the Rockets don’t have the national media running the team.

 

that play at 3:06 pretty much defines what ariza is as a player now, no flashiness, no wasting energy.

it made no sense though, yes wall is a better passer than harden, but harden (and howard) collapse defenses and leave open men way more than Wall does.

And, to top that, Terry has played better than Lin off the bench last year.

Reminded me on how he killed us with 3s at the end of the game against the Wizards last season. Good to have him on our team.
