There's probably a fairly good chance that 3-7 or heck even 1-8 (in this unhealthy okc world) goes down to a bunch of lucky rolls during the season.
terry fills lins shoes and some. the only thing lin has terry doesn't is that quick first step. asik is the only player we're sorely missing this season
lin will not be missed. he just took up minutes off the bench. and was not consistent. sure he had a quick first step and is a score first point guard. but he didn't fit our team. tired of the LIN argument.
uhhhhhh we are 3 games into the season. lets calm down before making predictions as such. to make 3rd seed is pretty wishful thinking. this team is still not complete to be a serious contender IMO. throughout the long season we will feel the loss of asik. aside from that, i dont think we downgraded that much by losing lin or parsons. we either need one more star player, or some players on this roster to seriously step up when it comes time.
You do not need one more star player to make 3rd seed. You need seriously good role players to do it. Add some more
Agreed. Also, I'll continue to hope that age will catch up to the Spurs, despite evidence to the contrary over the past few seasons
they have a realistic shot at the 1 seed. san antonio is volatile, things could go very badly for them very quickly, and the clippers have not looked good. they barely beat the thunder sans durant, barely beat the lakers, and then lost to the kings tonight.
I'd be happy with going 2-1 in those games. As for the OP, I think 3rd seed is a bit optimistic. I realize that OKC's stars going down will increase our chances though. I think 4th seed is more attainable and I'd be satisfied with that.
I also said Rockets would have a historic chance to be 3rd or even 2nd seed but yeah.... from a realistic standpoint Rockets' current power standing is about 4th, 5th seed but anything can happen if they overachieve.
Tjones is averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds. He keeps that up then maybe we have our 3rd guy any ways? This is something the media experts can't really predict, guys like Tjones breaking out.
Howard isn't shaq but he shots free throws like shaq. So long as Howard can't shot 65% from the line he will never be an offensive goto guy. Ariza...are you kidding me? He's a shooter but he's not ever going to be a playmaker. Only playmaker is Harden. Fortunately he is one of the best. But you need another one. More so than Ariza, Bev, or Howard can. I know we all hate Parsons, but seriously, he had more ability to do that.
i agree. a good solid squad that plays team ball can get a chip, and IMO are funner to watch. but lets be real- 3 stars and role players is a much simpler formula. honestly, id just like to see some stability with this team instead of constant roster turnovers. i like morey and have always supported his tenure, but at some point you've got to have a stable core. overall though, i feel we are headed in the right direction though...
Howard can create his own shot, his biggest issue has been not recognising double teams, which seems to be improving, and even then he was still more efficient than Parsons trying to create his own shot. Actually even Beverley was better in such situations, what Chandler was really good at was his off ball skills, endless running, when off the ball he could be in constant motion, but his attempts at shot creation is what dropped his percentages last year, because well, putting up 0.57ppp on them isn't exactly standing out as something any team wants someone to do.
I can see terry filling in nicely with the help of others for lin. But Asik played half a season last year. Not a very good one either. He is an elite defender but we rarely saw that as soon as D12 got to houston.
Asik was rather soft in his head but he played tougher only as a starter I think he felt threatened not to be the clear starter, not needed I hope we can sign a taller Hayes who can be a bench player and a starter when starters are injured
