I've been listening to David Locke's podcast of the Utah Jazz this summer. I think Quinn Snyder is going to be a good coach and the Jazz are going to be much improved this year. They are focused on stopping fastbreak points to improve their D - in the same manner Charlotte took that huge jump. And there offense is incorporating a lot of spacing, movement and pace. I am not sure how extensive our scouting on them is since you must throw last years intel out the window. Hopefully we win, but I hope our guys take it seriously and are prepared. I could see the Jazz winning 35 games this year.
trey burke killed us in a game there last season. hopefully we have a better scouting report on him now
Someone on the Rockets should tell Hayward he is terrible at League of Legends, that might throw him off his game tonight.
I just checked the schedule and unless my math eludes me, the total B2Bs for them is 20 this season. Anyone know how many they had last year?
One source of optimism... in matchups Trevor Ariza usually played really well against Hayward... winning eight of ten matchups.
Soft starting schedule for the win! This should be another smack down. Snyder is going to be a good coach but he's hardly had any time to implement his systems. A beat down of the Jazz should be inevitable...
I'm looking for beverley to bounce back from last night's game. Also hoping Kostas can nail open jumpers.
Wiz & j*zz battled twice last year. Ariza had big games and affected Hayward enough to make him play below his averages. Spoiler Should be interesting to watch, cause last year Hayward killed us...
You guys are still thinking we are the same rockets? The old rockets would let them score the points. If we are D-minded today like last night, we will crush these guys. Dwight is setting the tone on D. He/they should clobber the first guy that tries to go to the paint and make them think twice the rest of the game. Like old school basketball.
Their starting five are 1 Trey Burke 2 Alec Burks 3 Gordon Hayward 4 Derrick Favors (Probable:sore left leg) 5 Enes Kantor Harden needs to play good defense tonight. He also needs to go right at Burks and put him in foul trouble. If he does, this could be another easy game.
I remember last year the Rockets started off slow in Utah and then had to make a huge second half comeback to win the game. I believe they ended up losing a game later to the Utah as well later in the season. Time to see if that "every game" focus that Howard and Harden spoke of during the off season wasn't just 'media speak' and they mean it. The team didnt have to play a full game last night and while home openers are always tough for road teams the Rockets should win this one even on a back to back
I agree..trap for sure.. hated the sluggish start we got off to last year against utah at the start of the season
What is the key to Utah's offense this year? Is it all Hayward again? I like the fact that we have three good defenders where they are most talented offensively: PG, SF, and C. Hopefully, we see a consistent defensive effort from game to game.
