Several good games are now out and are coming out soon. I just picked up Rise of Nations and it is excellent. It's kind of the Age of ___ games meets Civilization( It was produced by some of the Civ 2 guys). the single player Conquer the World campaign is very fresh. You play it sort of like risk but instead of rolling dice on a territory invasion you actually go into RTS mode and fight for it. It is a really cool concept and you can ally with other nations to work towards defeating enemies.

I have also been replaying through Warcraft III. I never finished the full set of campaigns the first time through so I decided to go through them again. I will probably pick up Frozen Throne eventually.

I guess I am really looking forward to getting the new NCAA Football and Frozen Throne. I am also looking to play the new version(1.10) of Diablo2. I considered picking up Galaxies but decided it would probably be a waste of my money because I am not into MMORPG's and wouldn't have a lot of time to get into it with school looming on the horizon.

What are you playing now? And what are you looking forward to in the near future?

Warcraft 3 is very good and I'll probably be getting to Rise of Nations sometime.

Word of advice: Stay clear of Morrowind and Neverwinter Nights. That is, if you don't want your free time completely destroyed. :D

Of course, Half Life 2 is the biggest game I'm looking forward to right now.

    I'm still unsure about Galaxies.

    Also good:

    Mafia
    C&C: Generals
    Battlefield 1942
    Vice City PC

    GTA: Vice City

It just came out for PC about a month ago or so, and I got it a few weeks ago. Since I returned from Atlanta on Sunday, I haven't done anything BUT play this game . . .

Do you know anyplace to get user created modules? I ordered the expansion pack, but I will probably blow through that pretty quickly. I was thinking of creating my own modules, but it takes a LONG time.

One year too late. I remember being addicted to Morrowind like crack. (using an Everquest phrase here.) I played it non-stop for like a few months, at least. I somehow quit, but I checked out the new mods for it and I had to play it again. New monsters, werewolves, Castlevania, Lilarcor the talking sword, and new items were just to good for me to stay away from the game. (especially since they were free! :)) Eventually, I was hooked again. Save me. :(

BTW, I also look forward to HL 2 as well. It looked huge... and pretty. :)

During the other 5 percent of my day when I'm not playing Morrowind or sleeping, eating, watching TV, I have been playing Legend of Legaia 2: Duel Saga. It is an ok RPG for the PS2 with a Xenogears type style of fighting with combos and stuff. It really suprised me considering I got it for $13 at a used game store. (Considering the price, it was great. :))

Star Ocean 3 looks pretty cool and seems to be the only upcoming console game I am looking forward to, at least out of what I can think of.

July 15th, to be exact....not that I'm counting the days or anything. 21 more days!!!!!

I pretty much stick to the sports games. NCAA is THE GAME for my money. I'm a nerd about that game. I look forward to it every year. I name every player on every team, I watch the real games to see what equipment the real players wear so I can add them to the game (elbow pads, neck pad, etc). I am obsessed with this game and proud of it!

Halo 2, Halo 2, and then Halo 2.

Add some Halo 2, and then you have a good mix of games including Halo 2 and Halo 2.

    ;)

Oh, and Fable is supposed to be the game to end all games. Except for Halo 2 of course.

Bf1942 is the best Multiplayer game ever.

Vice City is what I am currently addicted too.

Medal of Honor allied assault is excellent.

And am most looking forward to Half Life 2....

I know we disagree on this, but you really do need to play multiplayer halo.

Get some Cat 5, and a hub, and link up 4 Xboxes and 4 TVs. Play some 8 on 8 slayer on a medium sized level. CHAOS! Then play 8 on 8 capture the flag.

Halo is the best multiplayer game ever, and the best FPS ever.

I completely forgot to mention BF1942. I have put learning to fly the planes in the Desert Combat Mod, towards the top of my gaming to do list.

As for Warcraft3 if you liked the others you will probably like this one too. It is a pretty straightforward RTS but it has some RPG qualities to it and a pretty good storyline.

I would reccommend Rise of Nations Smeg, if you like RTS games. there is not really a story drivensingle player campaign but the way it is set up with conquer the world is better. You can play through it an infinite number of times and it changes eaach time. I am playing as the Brits(no USA) and took out Germany last nite with the help of the Greeks. Multiplay and Skirmish modes also have some interesting game types. One of which is called Assasin. You are asigned a nation to assininate and another nation is assigned to you. There are penalties to resources if you attack anyone else other than those 2. If you manage to kill your target you are then assigned the target they had and so forth until only one nation remains. I played a skirmish f these rules and it was a blast.

I'm just saying you should have a LAN day one time and just try it.

It's so much better than any PC FPS. Why? Control.

    Nomar,

I played Halo before it came out, and after it came out, and we hooked em up in Lan format.

The game is not even close in gameplay to BF....

    Just my opinion though.

    Carry on.

I'm still a big Day Of Defeat addict. Counterstrike once in awhile. Theres a new Half life mod, Earth's special forces, that I've been playing quite a lot of lately. Its based on Dragonball Z characters; lots of flying, beam attacks, and BIG explosions. Cool stuff if you're even a semi-fan of the series.
I really want to get BF. Anyone whose played it says its awesome, but damn, its still $50!

Yeah, that game is pretty cool. I can't wait till the implement in SSJ 2 and 3, especially since I read they will make them drain energy like they did in the show. (more planning.) Hehe...I remember playing that game when there were only like 4 or 5 characters but it was still pretty fun.

edit: I also remember them talking about putting in custom characters, but that was a while back, before the first beta I believe. I guess they will put them in near the end. Maybe non-DBZ fans could enjoy that.

I'm currently playing BloodRayne for GameCube. It's pretty good; I only paid around $20 for it.

There's something oddly appealing about a sexy, female vampire who goes around sucking the life out of Nazis while swearing like a sailor.
