I know I'm gonna get killed for this, I know this, I also know you guys are sick of all the trade threads, but I couldn't resist this....................

I've been sittin back and evaluating all the trade threads and rumors and heres my take,

    1) I hate all the new york trades. Period. We give up to much for players I'm not convinced are Superstars

2)I do like the J'Oneal trade but then again, we give up a hell of alot, however, they throw in a few more players or maybe a draft pick and I'm completely sold

So give me feedback on this scenario, and before you guys rip me, I already know this guy I'm about to mention is not ever gonna win the citizenship award antime soon but here it goes........

The blazers are trying to upgrade there image and thay have Mr.
Wallace dangling on the trading block

He can probably be had for much less than we would have to give up for O'Neal or any NY trade

Cuttino, Rice, and/or Mo would probably get it done, and I can live with that

OK, Let the lynching begin. I'm ready for it.

Your neck is safe, no way Portland makes the deal. Thus, this 'trade' and your neck can be ignored.

Why, I just read he's on the trading block

And they were gonna take spare parts from the Sonics for gods sake!!!!!!!

We can offer more than them

    Rasheed is gonna be traded

You're the one who guaranteed that Dunleavy would be the coach, aren't you?

That has nothing to do with it, THE blazers are trying to move him and I would love the Rocks to get in on the action, the sonics, suns and the bucks offered something for him why not us.

I'm just saying I'd rather have Rasheed instead of O'Neal because you guys are trying to give a Kings Ransom to get him
Rasheed would be easier to get

Plus O'Neal can't hold Rasheeds jockstrap anyway, he's a better overall talent than J'O'neal, attitude aside

Attitude can't be put aside. And his contract is up next season, I believe.

Yes, I believe 'sheed will be traded. I think it will take more than what Rox might offer.

Rip Hamilton is reportedly on Larry brown's out of here list. He has a game made for Rox.

I'd take Rasheed in second! Why?

Well, here's the deal with Rasheed. He's an elite PF period. But, wait, there's more.

He's gone on RECORD saying that he does NOT want to be the MAIN MAN anymore.

He's cut down his technical fouls down dramatically, he's able to keep control. And he realizes that he can't win a title by himself. He's WILLING to take a BACK-SEAT behind Francis and Yao! Imagine that!!!!

A starting PF, elite class, that's willing to take a back-seat!?!?!?

    Take him now!!!

Rasheed is the type of player that has realized that he prefers to step-up when required, but doesn't want the pressure of "being the man." He wants to be a team player, that can dominate when needed. But...

He doesn't want the responsibility of leading a team anymore. He doesn't care about being the center of attention. He's stated that himself.

Plus, Rasheed can teach Griffin how to play hard.

    Are you kidding me????

Why do you think the rockets are in dam near every newspaper article across the nation??????

Out of all the teams out there we have the most quality players up for grabs?????
Note the key word I said.......QUALITY. Not superstar players

We have some attractive players so why do you think it can't be done????
What other team has more to offer???? Let me tell you what the Rockets do have going for themselves that makes them a player for this offseason

    1) I know everyone here hates Cat with a passion, but there are NBA teams not named the Houston Rockets who would snatch him up in a NY minute. Because he's a 20 ppg scorer whos fairly cheap by NBA standards today, he doesn't kill your cap room.

2)Glen Rice's contract is something everyone in the NBA wants right now. What we lack for in Draft picks(we have NONE)we make up for with cap room. Glen comes of your books next year so it creates 6 or 7 million next year in cap room. Clearly that is VERY valuable to 28 NBA teams. Put that with your Mid level and a couple of Role players coming off your books and you can nab a nice player next offseason. The same thing applies in Minnesota with Terrell Brandons contract.

    3) Eddie is still a youngster and there are teams that will definately take a chance because of that new word everyone throws around so easily called "upside" or Potential. I personally think that Eddie is gonna be a Solid NBA player and I'm scared as hell to trade him. I think it will bite us in the ass. Rudy just wasn'r using him right. Making him a three point shooting power forward.
But the fact remains that several NBA teams would gladly take him off our hands, he's also a cheap quality players making only 1.8 million a season. But personally I wouldnt trade him
I think he'd pull a Jermaine O'Neal on us. Remember Jermaine in Portland????? They gave up on him and now Look

last but not least 4) Because of the value I just stated above we have leverage to throw in fillers and bloated contracts i.e. mooch or MO or Cato. Even though I believe Cato should be the last one I'd give up, I can't believe I just said that:eek:

So thats why I feel the Rocks are gonna be a player in the off season no matter who the what

Although I do like your Rip Hamilton idea.......

Hey guys we might have the inside track on Wallace because of our relationship with new Blazers VP Steve Patterson.....

Our EX-GM!!!! CD use to work for him and he and Steve are very close!!!

He was also VP of the Texans........

We might really get this guy!!!!!!

If he is actually willing to accept a lesser role and be a 3rd option then havin Sheed would be sweet. I think with our players and environment he could tone it down some.

I didn't even think about Rip Hamilton. Man, I'd love to have that guy -- pure shooter, guns standing still or on the move. Doesn't defend but hey, who on our team does?

I'd swap Mobley and anyone but the untouchables for him -- Mobley could be attractive seeing how money is a motivating factor in not wanting to keep him and Mobley is cheap.

Whoever think Portland will just give Wallace away is mistaken. Yes they over extend the players they have contractually, but one thing they probably don't do is get screwed because they want to get rid of someone. To date, the only really poor trade they have made was probably the Davis for O'Neal deal, but with Wallace ahead of him and Grant in line after that, he just got caught in the numbers game
