Rudy T gave everything to the Rockets as a player and coach--it has to be him. Those with a good sense of Rocket history would probably agree.
I give it to clyde honestly. Without clyde there would be no second championship. Then ralph and moses. His performance with dream in the 95 playoffs was just epic.
Not just as Rockets, but as players for the totality of their careers...it goes Moses Malone, then Clyde Drexler.
Moses was clearly the greatest (behind Hakeem) ever to play for Houston. But, then again....Moses didn't play the vast majority of his career for the Rockets. Therefore, my choice for 2nd greatest Rocket (based on skills AND longevity in Houston) is:
Moses was clearly the best player among them. But he's not a life time Rocket. Rudy should get the life time achievement award behind Hakeem. You can put Murphy in for life time if you count broadcasting contribution. Drexler's career with the Rockets was even shorter than Moses.
To those asking why Yao wasn't included, aside from the fact that his presence always skews results for non basketball reasons. Yao was always hurt, so he only ended up playing 486 games, Moses played 464 games. They ultimately ended up with similar longevity, and I love Yao but there is simply no legit discussion to be had between the 2. Big E put up great numbers, but Moses was better. This was really a longevity versus dominance poll. Big E didn't have the tenure of Murph and Rudy, and he wasn't as dominant as Moses, so i couldn't see any legit way to justify him as number 2. He is either number 3, or number 5 depending on which quality you would value more when listing players.
