No, not THAT kind of job smart a$$es. :D

I spent a lot of time going from job to job after college trying to figure out what the hell I wanted to to for the rest of my life. Here is the list:

    Graduated with (useless) Music Degree.
    1. Enterprise Rent A Car- Worked there for 3 years. Great for college grads but burned out quickly.
    2. "Executive Recruiter" (Headhunter)- Cold calling sucks.
    3. Recruiter for different company- Cold calling still sucked.
    4. Bank One Ass. Manager- Bank got robbed, gun stuck against my temple, quit next week.
    5. Chase Bank Call Center- Took verbal abuse 8 hours a day, couldn't say anything back.

Now I'm working for AIG. No nights, no weekends, decent salary and best of all...no contact with the general public. I think I'll stick with this one for a while. :D

    What about you?

    My story is pretty simple.

    - Knew I wanted a degree in computer science.

    - Using the University's Career Center I was able to luck up a job in software enginneering before I graduated.

    - Still at the same job.

12 different gigs (some of them were consulting contracts) since graduating college in 1983. All of them involved computers (mainly software support/training/report writing). Currently on a contract involving software security.

By the way...my college degree is a BS in Advertising. Looks good hanging on the wall in my home office but I have never worked in the advertising industry.

    I resemble that remark.

Nothing special, I work at the call center but not on the phones. Just correct mistakes on 401k distributions all day.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to work on the Penske File.

I did miss that. Very good though!

If I was on my game today, I would have responded to IMA's post by saying "You are not Penske material" or "Good luck on transferring the contents of the file into the flexible accordion-style folder".

Since graduating I've had (I think) nine jobs including barista, pet sitter, newspaper reporter/editor, massage therapist, vintage jewelry dealer and public relations writer. Before and during college I worked at 12 different places (that's all I can remember, but I'm pretty sure there were more) as a writer, field trip coordinator for a pre-school, assistant at a law firm and salesperson/manager at more retail establishments that I care to recall.
