Just got back from my wife's. Don't really have anything to report, just curious as to what anyone else thinks about the scenario. I didn't even go to my own reunion, but my wife was pumped about hers, so I went. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Only thing was I had to drive everybody around all weekend, so I couldn't get tanked. That would have definitely helped.

did you learn anything about her that you didnt know?

mine is next year but I doubt I will go. They said it's gonna be like $75 per person and that's without any dinner.

My 20th is next year, but haven't even been back in my high school town in about fifteen years. Alvin is way the heck out in the middle of nowhere.

All my friends in HS were either a year older or a year younger than me. I pretty much hated everyone in my class. I'd have more fun at the 87 or 89 reunion than my own 88.

I graduated 15 years ago and I haven't spoken to anyone from my high school in more than a decade. I've never been to a reunion and I can't imagine I ever would go to one -- I couldn't get out of that place fast enough. And, although Jeff still keeps up with a few friends from school, he (thankfully) seems to have no interest in attending his reunions either.

I'm only 9 years out of school, and I'm still in touch with a good few of the guys. We don't have a big culture of reunions in this country, but I see most of them at least every couple of months in London. We all got together for the best New Year's party in 2000. But that's another story...

Nothing substantive really. We've been together almost 10 years, and know more about each other than your average couple I guess. It was cool though to see the people she used to hang out with, even though they were probably a lot different now (although most people seemed to think no one really changed that much since HS).

    GO,

Espeically the 20th...all the cliques are gone, and you would be shocked at how much alike everyon is.

I skipped my 10th, but went to my 20th last summer, best time I have had in years.

    And, I hate Baytown....

    :)

I went to my 10th and was bored to death.I spent the whole evening talking gossip to my wife about other attendees. I don't need to spend $150 bucks to do that. I skipped my 20th. Maybe the 25th in 3 years.

In a related note: My Dad went to his 50 year class reunion on Saturday. All 28 living members of his class attended. Wow.

I went to my 20th about 4 years ago. It was a blast. The cliques were gone. I look totally different than I did in high school so it was fun for me since nobody recognized me (we had picture name tags and I wore mine backwards to make everybody guess who I was). It's always interesting to see how everyone turned out. In my class, those who were "most likely to succeed" turned out to be losers while those you thought would end up in jail or working at a Stop -n- Go turned out to be successful.

I went to my wife's a few years ago and had a blast. Her old cliques and hubbies, accepted me as if I was part of the group all along. The only weird part was an old boyfriend (who had a few) came up to me and told me I better take care of her. A few months later, he killed himself.

I've never been to one of mine. My parents moved me around (different HS in different states) my senior year to get me away from the bad elements I found myself in. The HS I graduated from I only attended for 3 months.

My 10 year is in about 2 years and I cant wait. I have kept up with about 2-3 people on a somewhat regular basis but that is it. There are a couple of people I would love to see and many I want to see how they turned out. I think that I have turned out to be pretty successful and would like to see how some other people have done. At one point I was hoping to go back and see how much people had screwed their lives up and laugh but I dont feel that way anymore. I really hope everyone has done well and would like to rekindle some friendships.

My wife's HS reunion will be the same as mine.

We are 4 years away from our 10th. I think we will probably go, although the wife won't want to. I see a lot of people from my class around town, but I don't stay in touch with too many of them. Most of the people I was friends with in HS were 1 year older than me.

I still speak with exactly TWO people from my class and only really one other who was in another class but the same school. Of those first two, one is a buddy I speak to about once a month and the other is my CPA.

I have ZERO interest in high school reunions. Frankly, I don't want to know what happened to everyone! :)

I took my wife to something that was class-reunion-like. It was an alumni party. Saw a bunch of folks I hadn't seen in about 10 years. I wouldn't shell out a $100 to see them at a reunion, but getting together at a bar was cool -- for a short amount of time. I'm sure my wife will post in this thread in a while to tell you what it was like to go to a spouse's reunion.

One thing is that I tried my hardest not to ask anyone what they are doing for a living. I think I succeeded, but it is harder to start conversations without that crutch.
