In case you have not noticed I have not been simming with any regularity. The fact of the matter is, I am to the point where I loathe simming. The reason is because it takes up a huge portion of time to go through everything. It took close to 6 hours to do the initial lineups and then it has taken from 2-4 to do some of the others. Part of this can be allieviated and to make my experience more enjoyable and to get a more regular simming schedule going I am implementing the following changes. I highly recommend the following format and suggestions be used when making rosters and changes(the reason I recommend them is because if they are not implemented neither will your roster moves). I will use my team as an example: Roster moves and Notes: Follow the arrows on Minor League movement (A note for everyone this will save you time. If you want to promote/demote as the computer suggests on your minor league page just type this instead of listing the players individually. If you only want to move certain ones and not others then list them individually. ) Move C S. Keever from Maj. to AAA Move C K Jones from AAA to Maj. Cut LF I Mundy from A Notice I listed Position Name and level on all of these. Most of you do this but on the chance that someone doesn't here it is.Also please make sure that you only have 25 people on the major league rosterIf you don't have room and you try to add someone they will not fit and I will not be guessing who you meant to send down. Also make sur eyou put any callups in this spot. If you do not when I get to the depthchart section and see a name that isn't on the ML roster he will not go into his spot on the DC. Any other information such as promotional scheduling, IR, and Trade block info should go here Depth Chart vs. RHP: C: Mauer / Keever 12% 1B: Gibbons / Keever 12% 2B: Burke/ Barfield 12% 3B: Glaus/ Barfield 10% SS: Ocegura/ Barfield 10%/Burke 5% LF: Alfaro/ Guerrero 5% CF: Castelejon/ Strong 15% RF: Guerrero/ Strong 15% DH: FUllmer/ Strong 10% Depth Chart vs. LHP: C: Mauer / Keever 12% 1B: Gibbons / Keever 12% 2B: Burke/ Barfield 12% 3B: Glaus/ Alfaro 10% SS: Ocegura/ Barfield 10%/Burke 5% LF: Strong/ Alfaro 25% CF: Castelejon/ Strong 15% RF: Guerrero/ Strong 15% DH: Fullmer/ Strong 10% Depth charts and Lineups are 2 different entities. Please treat them that way. If you want the same depth chart for RHP and LHP then all you need to list is it one time. Also please list your players in the order above(position wise and vs. RHP/LHP wise. That is the way the computer lists them and as this is the most time consuming aspect of the sim for me any help will be appreciated Lineup vs. RHP: 1) Castelejon CF 2) Alfaro LF 3) Glaus 3B 4) Mauer C 5) Guerrero RF 6) Gibbons 1B 7) Burke 2B 8) Fullmer DH 9) Ocegura SS Lineup vs. RHP: 1) Castelejon CF 2) Burke 2B 3) Glaus 3B 4) Mauer C 5) Guerrero RF 6) Gibbons 1B 7) Strong LF 8) Fullmer DH 9) Alfaro SS the lineup portion is just the way to set up your batting order. Like DC if you want to use the same for LHP and RHP then just list one. also list RHP before LHP if you use 2 different lineups. Pitching Staff: Starting Rotation: 1) R Oswalt 2) J Brigman 3) B Johnson 4) R Stahl 5) R Soriano Spot Starter: 1) D Novack 15% Mop-Up: 1) V Padilla 2) A harang 3) E Bailey Middle relief: 1) A Miranda 2) B Olivar 3) V Padilla 4) E bailey Set Up: 1) E Bailey 2) B Olivar Closer 1) C Forster 2) U Mama Pitching Staff is done correctly by most everyone. It is usually pretty easy to do. Two things though, first respect the order in which pitching spots are listed, second I listed a person for every slot available on your pitching staff. There are only 3 mop-up spots if you list a 4th guy he gets ignored. Also you do not have to fill every slot. If you fill none of the slots the computer takes over and puts in people randomly. And finally, as for lineup edits after the first sim. I think I am leaning towards having people only list their changes. It is more compact and easier for me to see what exactly everyone wants done. Manny hit on this in the current roster thread and I have found it easier/faster to do it this way. If you have questions on what I mean just look at the current way Manny,Dean and Zac(ther are others but those are the three that stick out in my mind) update their lineups. In fact if all you post are your updates you don't even need to post them in color. I will know they are updates. I am not trying to be a jackass about this but I have noticed in myself, the last week or so, a reluctance to sim or even look at the roster thread from the dread of seeing a bunch of sporadic stuff that I know will take me forever to setup. Everyone does some of the things like I want them and most people do most of the things like I want them, it is just that i think if every roster change is formulary then it will take me less time to do them and leave me happier and not dreading having to sim. On a lighter note, deve if you are reading this your ass is kicked out. if you need a reason why find me in chat and I'll explain it. Also if you ar ereading this form the red_raider nick enjoy it because it won't be operational long. Edit: I meant runninrebel not red Raider. I don't know where that came from.
Castro, from a new player, let me say thanks and while I'm still feeling my way through this I'll try my best to make your life easier because without you and this league my day would be VERY UNEVENTFUL. Hell, I might even have to work.
CASTOR, not Castro. Just tellin ya, because I would be kinda upset if you mixed my name up with an evil, oppressant dictator.
look what all this lazy bum business turned out to be - you got what you wanted - the end to the sim!! A real state of the OOTP address!
To give an update. Castor's ISP has been down for 2 days, but he came into chat late last night. The sim will be back on track tonight (unless something else comes up of course).
Actually I figured you might need a little extra time with your date. And I don't have a clue why Prior only started twice. everything is set correctly it just seemed to skip him and number 5 while borowski started. On a side note I did 3 weeks this time
