5/10 of the Big 12 schools are in the rankings. It may not be the SEC but it's a damn good conference and easily the second best in the country.

It is good right now, but like I said 5 years ago, it had been getting boring for me personally. The conference is smaller now, you get the exact same matchups every year, there's no title game. Scheduling good teams makes the season more enjoyable IMO. Texas fans now have something to get excited about.

You can bring up the easier road, not needing to schedule unnecessary games against historically good programs and risk losing early - I get it. But that's a different argument.

I'm just saying more games against good teams equates to excitement during the season.

Take a look at big12's nonconference scheduling and then SECs. You are right, the SEC should look to scheduling better teams

    Addressed. http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-fo...es-must-play-power-conference-schools-playoff

Regardless, I've been a fan of a Big 12 team. The SEC is much more exciting to me as a fan. I enjoy the quality of games much more. It is my opinion. I am happier. I enjoyed drawing SC this year, Florida in that past and look forward to playing Tennessee and Georgia in the future. Cool stuff.

Yep, as a fan SEC is much more fun with bigger games regardless of the outcome .. with that said, I'll be the first to admit I miss Big XII basketball

This is ridiculous. The Big 12 just didn't cut it? Sounds like more Aggie brainwashing to me.

Been saying it for years. Well before TAMU left or was even rumored to be leaving. I was pumped about the Pac 16 rumor. I wanted the Pac16 much more than the SEC at the time but realize now it doesn't make sense logistically.

Wouldn't say brainwashing as much as hubris.

The Aggies were not even performing well in the Big XII

it's not like they were winning the conference every year.

It's just personal opinion. Nothing more. The SEC matchups are more enjoyable to me. There is nothing to debate.

This is true, but I'll maintain that the path to a conference and national title is more attainable in the Big 12. If Baylor was Texas or OU, they could get into the playoffs with one loss.

They were on of the main reasons the BigXII wasn't as exciting as it could have been: one of their 3 or 4 flagship institutions was a doormat at worst to mediocre at best, finishing 10, 4, 9, 4, 6, 11, 8, 5, 7th their last 10 years in the league.

I'm gonna back up Ziggy on this point too; regardless of rankings, playing programs like LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida every year just makes the season more enjoyable than it used to be. Not really sure what else we have to say about it to qualify the general perspective of the fan base.

How long will you think that if A&M can't finish higher than 2nd or 3rd in the division? I'm not saying they won't or that their program won't get to that point. I mean that if that happens, how long until that fun last if it just means losses.

That's fine, but do you see the irony of saying the Big XII 'didn't cut it' after your team was a doormat for most of the conference's existence?

Anyway, people are being way too reactionary to a&m's recent struggles. I think most rational people saw this as a rebuilding year for them. The South Carolina game was almost a curse because it put a whole different level of expectations on the team. They'll probably still finish 7-5 or so, which sounds about right for a team that lost three key offensive starters and lost key cogs from a defense that already sucked.

See, nice unbiased response. People think I'm a homer because I like the SEC. I just like the style of football, quality of coaching, pageantry and the programs in the conference more. I'd rather live in Austin than CS, in fact I'd probably commit suicide if I had to live in CS. We can all be honest here, no need for pee-pee games.
