Between asking corporate shareholders to vomit billions in extra cap-ex and birthday wishing some Google press releases you sound like a spoiled first world brat.
And you sound like a corporatist pig. Sorry for being a fan of competition and innovation. Sorry for wishing consumers like you and I don't get ****ed by monopolies.
The problem isn't need of the consumers, capital or shareholders of companies. The problem is that better tech existed and companies lobbied (defrauded) to install backwards tech using govt money (taxpayers) to ensure that they can repeat the process multiple times again. This is both incompetent govt and socially irresponsible corporate capitalism. Meanwhile S.Korea has enjoyed 1GB/s tech for some time at a fraction of the cost ($27/mo). http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/22/technology/22iht-broadband22.html?_r=0 http://stopthecap.com/2014/10/14/south-korea-prepares-10gbps-broadband-transfer-1gb-file-0-8-seconds/ Internet is maybe the important infrastructure a country can have in this era. It is simply not ok for corporations to use taxpayer money and set back a nation for their own benefit.
