He looks physically miserable, which is why a reunion album would be more likely, but there's no money in albums anymore, so I think the Genesis train has left the station for good. Pity.

From what I understand, Daltrey's voice is still strong. By chance we were flipping channels last night and caught the Who's Quadrophenia performance from two years ago. Daltrey still killed "Love Reign O'er Me."

My wife and I will try to catch their Houston show. As you say, when it's gone, it's gone forever.

The Daltrey/Wilko Johnson album that came out this years is absolutely fantastic.

Also, everyone go down a Wilko Johnson YouTube wormhole if you've never heard of the cat.

I guess I am a weirdo since I like both versions of Genesis (Gabriel led as well as Collins led). I'll buy a new studio album if Collins is singing on it.

That nut sack costume Gabriel was wearing was hilarious. I never really knew much of the Gabriel-led Genesis. The story that led to Gabriel leaving sounded a lot like Waters leaving Pink Floyd...one person got to headstrong about his role and was no longer on equal enough footing. In this case, I think it paid off that Gabriel left cause Phil Collins talent was undeniable and they didn't really soar higher in the charts until Collins took over the microphone and got his foothold. And, Gabriel obvious had his own success and hits. Most of the most recognizable hits (at least, to me) from Genesis are Collins singing and I believe are his lyrics. I also loved the idea of a two drummer band...especially live. I have to say I found the Gabriel version a bit strange with all those costumes...but I'm not familiar with that music from early Genesis. It was an interesting documentary; I was watching it last night. It seemed like there was still bad blood between Gabriel and the lead keyboardist. It was funny when he said he didn't get or like the whole "Lamb" concept album and it looked like Peter wanted to roll his eyes and/or knock him sideways.

The balls on this band to release an album they are touring for on the day the tour started and not even having a real foothold with the US audiences. I couldn't imagine listening to them play a double-album live all the way through never having heard the material beforehand. I bet that was a chore most nights.

    But, good stuff.
