I'll probably end up thinking the same thing about this that I thought about Alien3 .. The movie, if taken on its own - WITHOUT the tie-in to other stories - would have been great, or at least maybe pretty good. However, with the Alien world, and especially with the massive and diverse lore of Dracula, the these movies just ring as schlocky gimmicks. And was that Charles Dance as the 'demon' or whatever it was? LOL it's totally no coincidence that he was ALSO in Alien3.. With this Dracula movie, they could have changed the name from Dracula to anything else, and it would have been a cool movie. As it is, people will just be cynical and tear it down.
IT was just ok. No new ground broken Another 'softening' of the character of VLAD THE IMPALER It was ok . . . .I was not amazed Rocket River
Same with me but I took my 14yr old daughter. Just was wondering why Romanians have English accents? At least the Turks in the film attempted to sound Turkish!
Shoot, everyone in Biblical times has an English accent, even fake Jedis have them, too. Don't you mean Turkish peeps tried to sound like they just learned English? I want to see this movie now and compare it to Bramm Stoker's Dracula (Gary Oldman / Keanu Reeves / Robert Duvall flick).
Dracula Untold was ok, watchable but they just turned it into a superhero origin story pretty much. Not a lot of new ground to tread to be honest....
Did pretty good box-office wise, already made it's money back worldwide. This is supposed to be the start of the Universal Monster 'Universe', kind of a knock-off of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I actually hope they do well and we have a big Monster Squad movie at the end.
Funny . .. . had the convo with my GF and Son after the flick It is no where near Bramm's . . . IMO Rocket River
