Are you sure about this? Unless they're home schooled, they're supposed to be in school before teen years and a sleeping pattern should have already developed. Maybe before teenage years?

I'm pretty sure she was joking.

When babies are born, their circadian rhythms are not fully developed. Baby’s circadian rhythms develop over the course of the first 2-4 months. Unfortunately for parents, this means that early on, baby may want to sleep more during the day and be awake more at night. You can help your baby’s circadian rhythm to develop by offering frequent feedings during the day, every 2-3 hrs, and opening the drapes or blinds in your home during the day, allowing in natural light. Exposure to natural light helps to set the circadian rhythm early on.

We've flown with my 4 year old multiple times from when she was nine months old. We've managed to keep her from crying 99% of the time. I go prepared with lots of things to munch on and things to entertain her. I haven't notice a lot of crying from other kids on my flights either. I think the issue is overblown. Most parents are aware and try not to let their kids bother other passengers but I guess there will always be one kid that sticks out.
