hmmm...that post didn't come out like I thought. Let me past that again for the full background of the quote. I also meant to ask Trader_Jorge and others if Graham is always so brutal when talking to his pitchers during the game. Or is this just a CWS thing, when everything is on the line and he knows what they can handle and not. I didn't realize Graham says stuff like "show me your stuff or else I'll get someone else out here." Kinda expected college coaches to try to calm the pitcher down, instead.
Im hoping all the Yao Only fans get ahold of him. That alone will drive anyone crazy. Yetti: blah blah blah blah Yao blah blah blah... KidRock8, why you a dumbass? blah blah blah blah.
Rice was better than us this year. Austin reporters hyped all year on UT's lack of a 3rd starter, but in reality we had one good starter in Howell. Justin Simmons was terrible this season, not that I expected him to be as good as he was the year before. The only two consistent UT pitchers were Howell and Street and we finished top 4 in the country. That is amazing. And to be honest, I think Rice-UT was the championship. Stanford is really good but we could have beat them, same with CSF, who had cordero and windsor only. The sad thing is we will lose moss(who is not the thug TJ makes him out to be), majewski and quintanilla as they were all selected in round 3 or higher by good organizations. Sultemeier is an outside possibility as well in the 6th round by Baltimore. But Augie will bring in fine talent and we will be a force to be reckoned with as long as he is coaching. Finally, HP, at least the UT fans here didn't go into hibernation for a week or two after they got eliminated like you did last year after we knocked Rice out of the CWS and you had talked all that smack before the games. Just messing with you and congrats Rice, its about time.
UT didn't get hit too hard from the MLB Draft (recruiting-wise). Danks was gone anyhow. Alan Alaniz might be a starting pitcher for UT next year.
Well, what I meant was as far as losing kid that weren't expected. Alaniz is a pleasant surprise for UT, to show up to school. Did McCullough sign? If he shows up to UT, I bet he starts from Day 1 at SS.
Hmm...not sure. I think Hollimon looks to be getting it together. Alot of talent. I think he should play 3rd. His problems have been mental. Who is Nick Peoples? I've heard he's coming in. Name is very familiar.
I note the , and I also would rather talk to you about this in person. but that won't happen..so I'll just continue speaking my mind and hoping everyone just ignore an obnoxious bandwagon troll like kidrock8 DVauthrin, like many UT fans, you don't strike me as someone who knows anything about the sports mentality of a fan of a perennial loser/underdog. You have to note that I'm from Illinois and half my best friends growing up were Cubs fans, and the Bears weren't doing much either. Illinois was really a completely losing state. Then I went to Rice. hehe You UT fans expect wins, to the point it ruins the fun without it. imo, You don't handle losses as well as us perennial losers and you don't appreciate wins as much as us. I consider than a sports FACT! move on. Next time I meet you DVauthrin...I'll explain it to you more. Most of these congrats are not classy at all, especially considering 2 decades of classless ways of telling Rice they suck. This is just UT fans paying the price for exploiting their bragging rights from many past years. save it Perennial losers do not worry about saying "Hey, the best team won." That is just a perennial winner's way of saving face. Losers like me, expect losses and build up everything pregame about cherishing this moment. Oh, and regarless, I love getting UT fans riled in any manner where they have to admit Rice is a contender. This is a great, great moment for Rice. so, I'm not interested in any UT fan congratulating Rice on a bbs....save it for in person. I'd rather laugh at RIET refusing to admit defeat. It's more fun.
heyp- What exactly do you have against me? FYI, I've been a Rice fan for as long as I can remember. I don't have any ties to it, other than it being one of the two home D-1 schools. I'm sorry that you have this internet hatred for me.
wow...It's gettin a little heated around here, must be the heat. The upside down horn doesn't bother me when a school like Rice does it because, well, Rice hasn't really accomplished anything....if they win in Omaha...good for them..... It really doesn't bother me when anyone does it....UT fans have their own rude retailations like BLOW-U and F*ggies, now I don't use the ladder, but many do. Thats the way it is.
I'm so freaking excited, today. I haven't been this way since 1995. I have to be the luckiest sports fan around. From small town fan to the big city, I witnessed all my childhood teams have what I consider to be the most miracle years in the history of their respective sports, then the Rockets had their titles, and I said to myself "that's it" I'm blessed and will never forget any of these...everything else is gravy. All my favorite teams did it in such perfect fashion!! I never thought I'd get so giddy and nervous again until I have a little kid get all excited about it and I watch it all happen through their eyes. But then again, I also never expected Rice to ever be a contender. it's happening all over again. I BELIEVE!! GO OWLS!
Then don't contribute to ruining the most perfect day in Rice's sports history by ruining the one thread on this bbs where we can get all excited and nervous about it. Don't troll the UT fans. It isn't about them, ... get it?
What a game tonight! I'm drunk now and getting drunker! How's the weather in Austin? It was a beautiful night in Omaha!!
GO RICE!!! Bada$$ game. Sorry it had to end for Stanford on an error, but we gave them a run on Sinisi's error, so we still beat 'em.
Was Graham ejected? That was a horrible call, but the batter was lucky he wasn't ejected. Yes he was ejected. First ejection at Omaha in 5 years. This half inning just won the CWS for Rice, I guarantee it.
