6th Street is not meant for college graduates. I know I felt out of place the few times I went down there after graduation. Try more upscale bars. The one at a restaurant whose name I refuse to type (located at Parmer and Amherst) is pretty nice. Of course they are racist bastards who stopped getting my weekly drink money over a year ago. But if you've got light pigmentation, you won't have a problem there.

And I guess nobody goes out on Thur. because it was fu#king dead last night. I guess a little bit has to do with UT. Funny because I was in San Marcos yesterday for business. Ate at some place called The Pub or something that overlooked the river. Lots of hottie SWT students there.....

Honestly I see a lot of women at gay bars these days and I know they're not lesbians cuz mostly they're talking to or tipping the male exotic dancers. I guess they are just too cheap to go to LaBare.
Watch out for Zimm's. I have some friends that work at a restaurant nearby and they have had 4 different people mugged in the last 2 weeks, and another about 3 months ago. All at gunpoint in the parking lot / street in the back.
The real muggers at Zimm's are the bartenders. Prepare to take assloads of money if you wanna get drunk there. Also, prepare to wait a long time for your drink on the weekends. WTF are there only 2 bartenders in that place on the weekends. Anyway, its not the same hot-chick place it used to be - they all go to Red Door, by the Spec's liquor in Midtown, now. If you go to Red Door on a Friday or Saturday go EARLY, and I mean EARLY, unless you enjoy waiting in long lines or mobs of people trying to get in.
My buddy used to bartend there so drinks were pretty cheap for me. There service is ok. I have definitely seen worse. Will have to check out the Red Door next weekend.... Cant wait!
I live right next to Red Door. It is awesome. Just sick talent there. Thursday night is my favorite night. Weekends are also good. Nothing like drinking irresponsibly, then walking home instead of driving. The new spot that just opened up is the Belvedere in Uptown Park near Champps. I'm going tonight to check it out.
Good luck bigg - Belvedere is prety small & gets ullttraaaa packed. Maybe I'm getting older, but I don't care how hype a place is, I don't want to be there if it turns into a a damn mo scene like Red Door does on weekends. Last week it was almost impossible to even get upstairs b/c the stairwell was so packed. Thursdays are better there. It's dead on Sunday b/c the Social is so crowded. The problem I have w/ thsoe places is the women aren't as open, What I mean is that people are more concerned w/ being all dressed up, standing there trying to look cool, rather than drinking, partying, meeting people and having a good time...
The San Marcos River Pub & Grill. it's an alright restaurant. the good thing about San Marcos is that you can't go to too many places w/o being around hotties..... they're everywhere !! how bout the Sky Lounge on 5th (i think)? only been there once but it definately was nice (too nice for me actually). kinda trendy i guess. one of my fraternity brothers bartends there, so i'll be hitting that place up at least a few times this summer.
