Actually Mobley hit a game winning shot in his first game in the NBA. Do you realize how rare it is to hit a game winning shot? ------------------ "I have a scale at home and it only goes up so far, I love that scale!" - Charles Barkley TNT Studios
Great ending, great game. You can look for the negatives, but the mian point is we WON!!! Man Bob,you are a nasty, bad person. No wonder you didnt post in a long time, you were cleaning the throw up from around the house ------------------ La vida es una experiencia unica, aburrirse es un pecado.
Oh, I smell some pooh. Did I just hear that Mobley should have drove against LA and Utah, DOWN BY THREE!! Damn, give that boy some Crisco!
He did NOT shoot too soon. If he misses, he gives the Rockets a chance to foul and even if the Knicks hit both foul shots the Rockets would have time to try for a game tying 3... It was GREAT strategy. DaDakota ------------------ If Mankind evolved from monkeys and apes, then why are there still monkeys and apes?
The knicks must be like Warrick Dunn They don't ever be on the cover of CAT FANCY AGAIN!!! Rocket River ------------------
I think it's no secret that Mobley can't shoot that well. Those stupid heaves he's been making in key situations in recent games have not helped the Rockets in any way. Cuttino's strength is driving not shooting. If the Rocket's would have needed a three in that situation, I'd rather see Francis take the shot or create for someone else like Bullard or Walt. Mobley's shooting percentage is just too low to chance it in that type of situation. But like I said, I'm glad he didn't throw up a wild shot and instead drove to the basket for a better shot. ------------------
pooh, you are confusing Mobley with Hughes. If you can't see that Mobley is a great shooter, and that is one of the reasons why he can drive, then I don't know what to say. If he can't shoot, the defenders just back away to take away the drive. His shooting is a key to the driving. That's why he shoots over the defender often, because he must keep them honest. If you require stats, this is a fact: Mobley shot 48% FG and 39% 3's in the last 46 games last year. Once Shandon and Walt woke up last year, the pressure comes off Mobley and his percentages go up. I will bet anyone that Mobley is at 45% and 37% by the end of the year, because pressure will continue to be taking off of Mobley. bet me!!
was it like this in detroit also? i mean, why must we continually pit cat against wink? it can't be that they are possibly the best backcourt since, hmmm, joe & isiah. NOPE, it's too easy to battle over who should be doing what. here's the truth, bashers: they both can do whatever it takes! now stop b****ing and making these false claims about cat not being a good shooter. his name's mobley, not breaux. ------------------ [This message has been edited by verse (edited January 12, 2001).]
I didn't get to see the game. I was helping my son move. I'm glad. It would have been pure torture. I would have hated it. Way to pull it out Cat "Ice-water in his veins" Mobley. Someone has to WANT to take that shot for it to have a chance of going in. I'm glad we've got someone like that. HeyPee, you were kidding about taking the shot too soon, weren't you? Oh, yeah. Someone wants Bullard or Walt to take the game-winner. Bwahahahahahah. ------------------
I'm so VERY, VERY GLAD the Cat decided to stay in Houston!!! I've loved his game since he was a rookie and hit the game winner early in his first season. He is fearless and can take anyone off the dribble! What a talent! LONG LIVE THE CAT! ------------------
