That's crazy, Codell. I can imagine that would turn you off to a song. That happened with me and my girlfriend one trip but the song was American Girl by Tom Petty.. We probably heard it 5 times over the course of the day, but since we both liked it, it kind of became our song...
: Behad, can you stay near the top of the Hangout and make sure no one steals my Seinfeld material???
Jamiroquai is a guilty pleasure? I'm not embarrassed about music I listen to, in all honesty. I'm not that bothered what other people think about my music tastes. What I did was randomly spin the scroll wheel on my iPod, to choose 5 artists to put in this list. Here they are: Benny Goodman Carter USM Wu-Tang Clan Natalie Cole Sam & Dave
In the US, Jamiroquai doesn't enjoy nearly the popularity they do in the UK. People here only remember them from the "Virtual Insanity" video.
I think I actually remember that song and what I remembered was that it was a very damn good song...way better than what the Spice Girls normally do (I did have their first album , but I sold it for like 2 bucks ). Unfortunately, I can't remember what that tune sounds like because when I think of the Spice Girls, all I think of is "Wannabe". Thanks, Mrs. JB, for getting that song stuck in my head now!
ding, ding, ding! i think we have a winner for the lamest song award! lol. it was cool though. neat video too. man, i feel like a loser now. but of course, i wouldn't listen to "careless whisper" while watching a basketball game on tv with friends either.
Good call OS. I think "Father Figure" would be a better b-ball choice. Ms. JB, I love Jamiriquia and was into them before anyone else in the states (because I'm a music snob!).. I guess other people here are missing out.
I force my friends to listen to "Last Christmas" when they come over. It's how I weed out the true friends from the lame-azoids who care about appearances and image.
That's another so called "one hit wonder" band that actually is a lot more than that. Excellent band. If you like them, you should check out Level 42. They sang There's Something About You that was all over the radio years ago but have a huge following in the UK. The most incredible (rock/pop) bass player I've ever heard. They are like the UK version of Dave Matthews.
Thanks Ima. Its fitting that you would respond when my comment regarded my musical snobness and that you would recommend an obscure band no one has heard of. I'll have to download some Level 42 on Kazaa. Thanks!
Amen brother. Wham! was/is the best boy band ever, hands down. No guilty pleasure there. Look at these hits: Last Christmas (screw "Jingle Bells", "Jingle Bell Rock"...this is the HOLIDAY ANTHEM) The Edge of Heaven (that addicting grunting..) Bad Boys (oh we found out georgie was indeed a bad boy) Wake me up before you go-go (ORANGE MOCHA FRAPPUCINO!) I'm your man (smaller hits..still one of their best) and of course... Careless F'N whisper. question: did andrew ridgely do anything besides riding george's jock? clearly, my left pinky toe has more talent than ridgely.
Became a race car driver at one time and have no idea nor do I want to know what he is doing now. I feel so ashamed that I knew about him being a race car driver.
Sarah Mac is awsome, I have all of her CDs. I wouldn't make fun of anyone's taste in music though, because I don't think there is such a thing as good and bad music. It is totally subjective. I even have a couple of Creed songs in mp3 format somewhere. Anyway, listen to whatever you want, and if someone makes fun of you, kick their ass and ask 'em who the wuss is now.
Wow, I bet I'm the only other person on this board that remembers that song. Once upon a time, a long long time ago, I had a crush on a girl who told me she really liked that song. I would listen to that song and think about that girl for hours and hours. It drove me nuts, but I'm almost well now.
I used to live in the athletic dorm and it had very very thin walls. You'd hear fights, sex, and of course music. I had a good relationship with everyone around me and none of us was really embarrassed by anything we overheard, with the exception of music. I had to counter the loud rap all the time (I like it, just not all the time) with my mp3s, but every once in a while, it'd get to a track where I'd think to myself "crap, I don't think it's a good idea to be blastin this around here!" So heres my list of unmanly music that I like to listen to: 1) Mariah Carey - Can't Let Go 2) Tony Rich Project - Nobody Knows 3) Michael Jackson - You Are Not Alone 4) Elton John - Tiny Dancer 5) Kermit the Frog - The Rainbow Connection
Let's see, I've got a few.. Journey - Foolish Heart Nina - Foolish Heart (cover ) Legend of Zelda - Mix Apocalyptica - Any of their songs, really.. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody Note that I'm in high school where if it's not 50 Cent or Good Charlotte, there's a pretty good chance that you'll hear "OMG LOL LIEK DA HELL LOL!!!SHIFT+ONE1!!!" about plenty of songs
Those two are good songs... Re: Sarah McLachlan...she is one of the sexiest sounding women I have ever heard, and I am repeatedly astonished when I remember how unsexy she is in every other way...but, man, that voice does it for me.
