Giving the outside of my house a much needed face lift and been driving around looking at houses to get paint ideas. I've noticed it does not matter what color you paint the house as long as the front door looks cool. So my question for you is...... what color is your front door?
I agree, painting your door makes a big difference. Reds and blues do look pretty good. I'd go for a lighter blue myself, a dark turquoise possibly, but I'm crazy.
Just a tip here. Whatever color you paint it, you should do it with a good brush, and an oil-based paint. Oil-based paints look great when they're brushed on, and they'll do well as a door paint.
Red is the way to go. Semigloss to gloss if there are no obvious scratches/dents Satin if there are scratches/dents (wont show imperfections as much)
Agreed, just make sure you dont make a mess when you do use oil based paint. Its hell to clean up! Also, oil based paint does flake off if you paint over latex, so be careful!
