i heard that the rox were dealing cuttino, rice, and nachbar for spree. my friend said he heard it but i still do not have real proof. so i was wondering did anyone else heer it
Its been posted before. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59604 I've seen it posted somewhere else on here but can't remember where. It's just a rumor, nothing to take seriously I hope!
man, i would hate spree here! he's worse than mobley in terms of ball hogging! he makes mobley look like j.kidd for crying out loud! no to spree!
Like most of us agreed, hopefully that was just a rumor. Cause' he does'nt belong here! I'll be really pissed, if Gundy will pull that deal.
Well lets take a quick look at the Spree's stats and Mobley's stats from 2002-03. Spree - Cat ppg. 16.4 - 17.5 rpg. 3.90 - 4.20 apg. 4.5 - 2.8 Now the only thing that Spree tops Cat in is Assist. But I think that the real "tie Breaker" is this. Spree is like 33 years old, and cat isnt but 28. So I say NO to Spree.
This was a comment posted on ESPN's NBA Insider by Chad Ford. This is another gross example of something being taken out of context. I've copied and pasted the relevant quote from the article below. "...Van Gundy is close with Latrell Sprewell. The Knicks are anxious to move him and Van Gundy will definitely be pushing to add another veteran or two to the mix. A trade of Glen Rice, Cuttino Mobley and Bostjan Nachbar for Spree and Othella Harrington would work under the salary cap. Mobley can swing between the one and the two, Nachbar is a promising young small forward and Rice comes off the books at the end of the season. " This isn't saying that it's going to happen, simply that the numbers work out such that this is one of a million possible scenarios that keep guys like Chad Ford employed. It gives him something valid to write about, regardless of whether or not it's actually something that both teams are pondering. if u want to see it yourself, you have to go to insider and read the article titled "Tim Floyd, the savior?" hope this helps
The stats reveal, 2003 season, that at this stage of their careers that: 1) Cutino is the better individual talent, more efficient offensive player (Points, Points Per Shot) 2) Sprewell is the better team player (assists) Based on the stats, we should not trade Cutino for Sprewell. Instead, we should develop Cutino's passing and overall team play. Also, Sprewell's is not worth the remaining 28 Million he has left on his contract. Points = 16.4 1.07 Points Per Shot 3.90 Rebounds 4.5 Assists 1.38 Steals .3 Blocks .794 FT % 2.32 Turnovers Cutino Points = 17.5 1.19 Points Per Shot 4.20 Rebounds 2.8 Assist 1.30 Steals .43 Blocks .843 FT% 2.27 Turnovers
