Has anyone ever contended something they were billed for. We went to the emergency room for an issue and they didn't have the specialist on staff but we found that out after we were seen by a general doctor (who could not issue an opinion) but gave antibiotics and a $500 copay bill.

What exactly are you contending? The actual medication given, procedure or just what you perceive was the amount of work they did at the ER?

Southwest Methodist, and we needed to get a stye lanced it's now impairing vision they were supposed to have a specialist on call who could perform such a procedure, but they ended up either not having this person or reaching them. So the problem was not even addressed.

They most likely considered it to be a routine meaning non emergency. Do you have an appt? Only specialty docs that will come out Stat are if you are dying.

We were referred to that hospital from a clinic, we wouldn't mind paying if they actual gave us treatment. We went there said we needed this drained filled out the paperwork got checked out by a doctor then they said they do not have the person available. It seemed like that should have been revealed on the front end.

This is apparently a big problem.

There are companies that correct wrong medical bills but I count vouch for them
