I don't think anybody in the history of music, if jerry lee is on stage in his heyday, could compete with this man for an audience.

Just say "the early Beatles", turn around and avoid the crush of teeny-boppers. Elvis is the only possible other correct answer

James Brown, at one of his many peaks, would have to be in the conversation, IMHO.

    And Bon Iver of course...

I agree. That was Jerry made over. Dude knew what he had, and he knew he had you and he didn't give a rip about it!

Saw him in 1999, hardest working corpse in the biz! To be fair it was over 100F and he danced for a good 2 minutes. I was spending most of my time trying not to die of heat stroke.

Obviously Hendrix was a legendary musician, but you put a random audience in a room with Hendrix and Jerry Lee and Hendrix wouldn't get a 3rd of that crowd, in my opinion.

Hell, Hendrix himself would be watching Jerry Lee.

James Brown WOULD give Jerry a run for his money for sure though.

So many, I will go with 2.

    1. Bruce Springstein and the E Street band.

    2. Freddie Mercury and Queen.
