Here's something about Mallett we are overlooking: arm strength that's something that fitz completely lacks but savage and mallett exhibit that quality i agree with plow that mallett eventually starts..he is smart and is mobile in the pocket..unlike our predecessor mallett doesn't have to be quick on his feet, but he evades pressure well... i think this move will surprise us and yeah **** dallas
I'd hope not because that would mean his talent evaluation is fairly poor. Mallet has 4 pass attempts in real games and yet he still managed to throw a pick. The only reason to be excited at all is if you are in the "anyone but Keenum" group.
Wtf, have you even watched him play? He is not mobile, he is a statue in the pocket. Smart? They said that garapalo was smarter than mallet and has a better grasp of the offense too. I'm not sure what we got in mallet but anything is better than that scrub Fitzpatrick.
Pryor wouldn't have excited me either, but he's probably already achieved more success as a starting QB than Mallett ever will and is at least capable of winning games as a spot starter. I think his value is maxed there, however. At least Mallett offers a miniscule chance of improvement. Zac Dysert is a guy on the Broncos practice squad who's performed very well in preseason action and has good measurables, he would have intrigued me as a pickup.
Well they should!!!! Mallett is amazing, sure he got picked off by Keo in one of his 4 career passing attempts, but Keo has 2 whole interceptions in his career so it's understandable that a player of that caliber could make him look bad.
O'Brien drafted Mallet. He scouted him. He worked with him. He taught him his offense. If Mallet is going to succeed anywhere, it's with BOB. Yeah, the probability of Mallet becoming a consistent starter is low. However, the probability of him becoming a consistent starter here is higher than any other available QB on the market. Not really sure how so many people have developed such strong opinions on Mallet when he hasn't started a single game (I don't think he's good or bad, I think he's basically an unknown), but the fact that we now get to explore this possibility for practically free should be a positive to any reasonable fan.
He has a strong arm. He can make every throw. He has a good OL. He has plenty of pass catchers. Defense will be strong and put him in good position. Special teams is much improved and will put him in good position. We are at least 2 deep at RB. Prosch seems to be reliable at protection. We don't need him to be Tom Brady. We need him to be Mark Rypien or Jeff Hostetler.
I have a really good feeling about this trade. Bill knows something nobody else does about Mallet. #Playoffs
And the only reason to be truly butthurt about this is... Well no, there is no reason to be butthurt about this.
Exactly. Isn't that the goal? Superbowl? Maybe you should research their numbers. Not exactly, hall-of-fame QBs. Don't need Mallett to be HOF worthy. Just efficient enough...and let the D do the rest.
Just saw malletts qb camp with Jon gruden. Guy comes off sounding like an idiot. It's hard taking him serious if you listen to the way he talks. BUST.
I saw both guys play & either one would be the undisputed starter in this roster. Both guys would laugh at Ryan Mallett.
