What will JVG do with Bostjan next season? Personally I think Rudy T. really havn't given him much of a chance so I would like him to play summer league to prove his worth.
hopefully he get's more playing time. I always thought he could be a great shooter, but he sits the bench.
Van Guny has alread said that he doesn't know much about the Rocket team, accept they lack perimeter shooting, so I would be surprised if Boki doesn't become a regular rotation player. I'm hoping he uses Boki the same way he used Allen Houston in New York.
I just hope that Boki is really working on his game this summer. I think he can really contribute to this team, but from what I hear, needs to improve defense.
I don't think putting Nachbar's picture on milk cartons helped last year... this year I am calling an Amber Alert with hope he gets more minutes...
Since he is the second greatest player to ever wear a Rockets' uniform, he'll probably be playing more.
If Steve Kerr, whos defense must be worse then Nashbar's, can play minutes on a championship caliber team such as the Spurs certainly a player such as Nachbar should be able to clock in some time on the developing Rockets.
Boki's status won't be determined till training camp. Last year he was comming off an injury & didn't get minutes in camp. That set him back & he never got the minutes to recover. He need to come to camp healthy & show wnat he can do. Then we'll know where he fitts in.
No, I'm not saying I want him to be the number one option on offense and have the ball in his hands every time. But I would like to see him moving without the ball and getting open coming off screens the way great shooters like Allen Houston and Reggie Miller do. As opposed to standing idle at the 3 point line like Matt Bullard. From the reports he's obviously does not offer much on the defensive end. So I would think the team would want to utilize him as much as possible on the offensive end so that he's at least somewhat useful to the team.
I am a little concerned about how Nachbar will fit into JVG's system. Nachbar's weakness last season was his defense. This is well documented. It was his lack of defense (and his lingering injuries) that kept him off the court. Now we have a new coach that preaches defense. I wonder if Nachbar will get any playing time. Hopefully they will allow this guy time to develop and get him some game action. Certainly he has to produce on the practice court but there is not substitution for playing in real games and experiencing the game atmosphere. I would really like to see Nachbar be part of the bench rotation this season. If he does not contribute then I have to wonder if that selection was a big mistake!
Have no fear. If Allen Houston can play in JVG's rotation, then Nachbar certainly can. And don't be so quick to discount Nachbar on defense -- he didn't get a chance to show whether he can play D.
I rather see T-mo before nachbar, I really thought T-mo really imporved last year from his rookie season. HIs shot looked much better, and he actually cut to the basket, and play pretty good defense. I wish he can have more pt this coming season.
all t-mo will ever be is a good role player at best.....nachbar has the potential to be a great player in the peja stojakovich mode ( at least thats what we drafted him for...)
all t-mo will ever be is a good role player at best.....nachbar has the potential to be a great player in the peja stojakovich mode ( at least thats what we drafted him for...) A great player? Potential? How many games or even minutes have you seen nachbar play? While I hope he turn out to be a great player, Tmo has by far shown more than nacbar. Tmo, had 4 good, solid years at MD, a rocky rookie year and when given playing time, a solid second year. Tmo has yet to reach his peak so dont short change him as of yet. While Tmo stayed 4 years in college, his learning curve is different than most of the other players his age because while during the summer in HS and College, he didnt go to camps, he choose to stay home and be with his family. I'm sure JVG will see the value in Tmo
Deuce, did he have lingering injuries or was that the excuse to keep him on the injured list (which I expect). Yes he had an injury in training camp, but I think he was ready to play within the first few weeks of the season. If we half way think Rudy was a good judge of talent (scout wise), then Nachbar has an incredible future. Wasn't that Rudy bragging about Nachbars talent of taking it to the hole, and dunking from just about anywhere? So either Rudy was clueless, or he saw potential. Regardless if Nachbar made it into Rudys favorite lineup or not, I do not think we can judge Nachbar on one season under Rudy.
