Damn just saw a VHS segment with Phil Hartman. This marathon hasn't even scratch the surface yet. Does anyone know which season we're currently on right now?

Yeah, now would be a good time to plant yourself for a while. Nothing but classics through the weekend.

Apparently they will be releasing a Simpsons app later this year, that lets you legally stream every single episode. You can even compile playlists so you can queue up all the Treehouse of Horror eps back to back.

That one and the episode of Futurama with Seymour waiting for Fry to come back while the seasons change and he slowly gets older are the only two times that a tv show/movie/whatever have made me tear up.

BUT I DIDN'T CRY, DAMN IT!

My eyes just got kinda wet, is all.

    I think it was allergies.

I think this episode is why I've never dropped acid.

If you have access to FXX, I use their app to stream on my phone.

Cartoons initially geared toward adults with subversive cultural and social references eventually become trivialized with repeated viewings, evolving norms and dated terminology, and are permitted as children's programming, analogous to Looney Tunes and Tex Avery cartoons loaded with innuendo and commentary. I don't care enough about South Park to argue the point: in fact I got sick of the external "Killed Kenny" references too quickly enough in college to ever watch the show, but I think I see what Grady was attempting to say.

Watching some tonight. Definitely looks like the show fell off in the late 90s. It's actually been better the last few years.....

Never cared about the simpsons and never watched it. Never watched Lost either, or Breaking Bad or SOA, or LOTR, or GoT, or Family Guy, I can watch south park though to a degree.

My roommates and I have been enjoying it so far. It's a good thing to put on to watch a few episodes at a time

I used to watch the Tracy Ullman Show (followed by It's Garry Shandling's Show) so I've been watching since the very beginning. Watching those early episodes, especially ones where the characters hadn't yet evolved into the versions we're more familiar with, it's odd to feel nostalgic about a show that's still on the air.

Think that when Bart put a cat in the washer is when the kids started getting shut down by parents as I recall it.

I mostly recall the episode with the Lemon tree. End cracked me up. And I do recall when as a joke Homer put police tape around his neighbors house as if indicating someone had been murdered. Too funny.
