This place is good, been meaning to go back. It's also a bar: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/7GUBqN-SaPI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I lived there for a summer in 2005, so I don't know much. I do know there are up and coming areas with more to do than when I lived there. It's the hottest city for millennial Hispanics as well, so I imagine a scene if developing. Check the SA Current for events and ideas too. http://sacurrent.com/
Also this is where the scene is... downtown. I heard more apartments are going in and more people are living over there. The food truck scene usually follows the trendy bar scene too, so here is a map of those. http://www.urbanspoon.com/ps/39/157...at-bar-food-truck-location-nearby-restaurants
If you like nature the drive on highway 16 out from 1604 all the way to Medina is one of the best drives in the state. It's beautiful, but there isn't much out there. It's about an hours drive and there are a couple of spots in Medina to eat. When I say a couple I mean two. Blink and you will miss them.
I will second this. Waited at bar over an hour for table. Margaritas were weak and watery. Food was way overpriced. And any Houston taqueria is better.
Was there a few weeks ago, I can't believe I had to pay $15 to park downtown. There was barely any parking because there were a bunch of conferences Grand Hyatt was cool, but most of the buildings downtown look like they belong in a zombie movie
I lived in San Antonio for two years. While I would not move back there, SA does have some redeeming qualities. I am not sure when you are going but if you happen to find yourself there on the first Friday of the month check out the First Friday art shows, music and bike rides.
I have no idea if this place is still there as it's been about 7 years since I lived there, but La Fogata made the best margaritas in the city IMO. The food was pretty good too, but those margaritas were worth the trip alone.

The Riverwalk, though littered with tourist traps, does have a few exceptional restaurants. Boudro's is arguably the best steak and seafood in the city and had been featured on every food show from the U.S. to Japan. Zinc, their sister bar/restaurant is equally impressive. Biga on the Banks is also a wonderful destination for eclectic dinner. Warning...They are not open for lunch so plan for dinner only. Breakfast is limited to a litany of breakfast taco joints...many of which (Taco Haven, Taco Rey, Taco Taco Taco, Rolando's Super Taco) are exceptional. For fare outside of tacos, the choice is easy: Magnolia Pancake Haus). I could go on and on about where to dine, so if you're truly looking for great dining, email me at: tracey.jns@gmail.com. I will point you in the right direction. As for night life, there is no comparison to Houston. It's piss poor here. But there are MANY neighborhood bars with quality trim to be had. All the talk about Fat Antonio has some merit, but then again Houston has more fat chicks than SA does. You have to know where to prospect for your gold here. Northside SA is where the quality resides. Downtown is limited to Esquire, Soho, Swigs, Drink, and H@TM.
