Coach K: James Harden ‘has been as good a leader as we’ve had’ for Team USA

It will be nice to see Harden mature and build his leadership skills. Hope it all translate into next season.

 

Hopefully this translate well to the Rockets, this team is gonna need Harden to take that next step if we are going to move in the right directions. Especially with all the losses this off season.

From what I saw of Harden last year, I'd take these type of comments with a grain of salt. But coach k obviously knows how to coach, an endorsement from him is huge. But when its all said and done, Harden needs to step up and show us next season!

Can't wait for the season to start already!

 

Who cares what those stupid role plays think

 

Coach K is desperate to placate one of his most talented players left on the team.

Harden is obviously a bad teammate, having already driven guys like Love and Durant into leaving the team.

Seriously, though: If Harden is finally holding himself accountable and decides to be a leader in all aspects-- not only talking but also walking the walk on both ends of the floor, this more important than any realistic trade that Morey may be able to make this summer because the team would he essentially trading away a talented but flawed player for a real elite star.

 

Coach K is obviously a homer.

 

Harden should take Coach K to Treasures.

 

While sarcastic remark on surface, Coach K will say and do anything to motivate his players with the time he has. He's a brilliant coach that gets the most out of people.

Maybe haren is indeed fat and lazy, but he's still among the best and most senior, so why not elevate him to the leadership role by calling him out through compliments?

It's a positive way to motivate. All Harden has to do is make the most of it.

I'm happy to see you are taking a more balanced approach to Harden. It is clear Harden is self aware and knows what he needs to improve on. That is all you can ask for. Team USA is gonna send us back a generational player as he reaches his potential. Nice article!

 

Great to hear this from coach K. This is a good sign for sure.

 

In that same interview, he basically made very meh comments on Rose. And didn't bother any other player by name except Curry. Not even Anthony Davis who is clearly the most important player on the team due to our lack of big men. So while it's his job not to say Haren's fat and lazy even if true, there's also no reason for him single out Harden if he was doing badly. It would send a pretty bad message to other players if Coach K's playing favorites.

 

I just feel like if he were a REAL leader he'd be doing the ice bucket challenge twice a day while adorned in only STOPKONY stickers.

 

Not gonna lie...But Coach K and this currently constructed team would win a title in the next 2 years. He brings credibility and respect instantly to this team. But sigh...Mchale it is...

Great sign! Hope this means no more silly dances while McHale is talking, no more leaving the arena when he has a bad game, no more immature cursing to media people etc.

I just wished we had a strong coach personality signed, I have a feeling any progress Harden has made will be undone by McHale's incompetence.
