    I agreed with you, Deuce.

I don't think Philadelphi will do the trade though. I think a Eric Snow kind of PG will do good for the Rockets. Otherwise it's basically all the stuffs we've been discussing on this forum.

RIET I will agree with you when you are right!! Take it or leave it! Its my decission if I agree with you not yours!!!
Though I would like an explaination why you feel this way? Its sort of hostile and not very friendy to refuse praise! Especially when your view about the Team coinsides with my own.

    The enemy of my enemy......

Now RIET, as for your other post you continue to tilt at windmills. While I have still yet to take issue with a single item of D'Alessandrro's piece. I've read his stuff for years in the sporting news, sometimes he's good, sometimes he's talking out his ass. Regardless,, do you honestly think he watches the rockets any more than fans like you and me? Probably not. Now, it's all well and good that he can come up with the same generalizations and preach to the choir of Yetti, who posts stuff like" ROckets need a point guard who is pass first playmaker like Gilbert Arenas or Jason Tery and we should trade Francis for him!" but in the end, it should be taken for what its worth.

You have yet to come up with any meaningful distinction between Yao speculation and rockets speculation, because there isn't one. A guy in suburban New Jersey doesn't have that much more exposure to the Houston Rockets than you or I , and not all that much less to the Shanghai Shharks or the Chinese National Team.

Really RIET, I have no idea why you decided to turn this into a personalized flame war. If you want to take issue with the substance of what I wrote, that is fine. I noted the irony of the fact that third party sportswriters are being lauded, whereas one year ago they were cursed. You have yet to address this point If you think its valueless and not worthy of response that's fine too.

However, I ask you not to manufacture assertions, attribute them to me, and then blast me for them.

RIET, this is the last I will say on this issue tonight, but I find it ironic (there's that expression again) that you have now blown me up to be "problem with this BBS" based on things that I did not write.

Van Gundy will need mental counseling by the fifth videotape! :D

On the other side, Rockets have so many obvious ways to improve. When Van Gundy get everybody to play within the system, Rockets can be a series contender this year. Imagine Yao dunking more, Francis passing more, Mobley jacking up less shots, Griffin banging more inside, Posey finishing more fast breaks, Boki/Hawkins seeing more playing time. Imagine that!

I don't see how someone who is out of town can't understand and state what the Rockets problems have been for 4 years now. There is NBA League Pass. You only have to watch about 5 games to see that if Mobley and the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz play chess against each other for the next 8 millenium it will end up in a draw.

I am not in Houston. I watched about 20 Rocket games last year. Except for the trade proposal, this guy is right on the money. Pity the Chronicle doesn't have the guts to say that Rudy T. lost his touch and it was time to go. Thats disrespect? No, its truth. And that shiznet hurts. Just take out a big straw and suck it up. Rudy is a big boy.

Rudy T. had the ability to coach veteran players who respected the game. This minions don't. So hence you need an executioner to either TELL the minions what to do or else. You can't ASK 95 percent of todays players to do anything without them having a titi attack. It takes a coach with a whip in his hands just cracking it on this teams ass and with managements blessing. Get with the program. Or be out.

    Can't wait til next year.

I agree about the mental counseling thing. I watched damn near all of there games last season....I even watched their last game when I knew they were eliminated from the playoffs.

The one thing that stood out to me from watching the all those games ( The first and the last ) was that Francis and the rest of the team for that matter weren't any better in the end of the season than they were in the beginning. The same stupid stuff that Francis was doing in the beginning he was doing in the end of the season. How hard is it to throw an entry pass to a 7'5 center. Steves turnovers are pathetic. I wouldnt have a problem with him having a turnover if he was actually trying to pass the ball to someone else.:D I think most of his turnovers come from not having faith in his teamates and trying to drive the ball inside on 3 or 4 big men. That is just stupid to me.

I hope that VanGundy can do something with this team cause it really seams like discipline and defense are some glaring needs. Maybe he can get Francis and Mobley to keep there man in front of them a lil better so I wont have to keep waching Kobe and Steven Jackson make a poster boy of Yao Ming. :(

Either that or trade one of there azz to the Globetrotters.

    Wait,the Scarecrow is the guy that needs a brain right?...I don't get it!:D ;)

Seriously,I too am out of town(out of the country for a matter of fact!) and only get to watch 4-5 games a year(Oh!The horror!).Even with this few games I can define some of the Rocket's problems! And I ain't even a sportswriter!

I think, just the JVG leading the work outs will do much good to the squad!I don't see it as disrespect to say that Rudy wasn't suited for this roster.

If the article is anywhere near on target it's MUSIC TO MY EARS!!

The "Jersey Jounalist" has somehow nailed it regarding the Rocket's flaws and needs!! JVG is the anti-Rudy and that's exactly what is needed.

    I am pumped :) :D ;)

    1. I don't understand what youre saying. Each individual writer has his or her own opinions. D'Alesasandro has nothing to do with Dick Vitale or Randy Bickley other than sharing the same profession. They aren't the Teamsters.

    2. The article is about Jeff Van Gundy moreso than the Rockets. Van Gundy is from NY and D'Alesasandro writes for a NJ paper. It breaks down the challenges facing Van Gundy as a Rockets coach. I don't understand how this is "wanting to see the Rockets do well".

An astute observation of the current Rocket's team. Aside from Ming, Taylor, Rice and maybe others, they are not the brightest group around. JVG is smart. Success here is certainly about more structure, more discipline, more brains. BUT, I still say we need more TALENT. The writer's comments appear lifted from some of my previous posts. Ultimately I think Francis will resist these changes and end up demanding a trade.

This is sort of strange as both of thoes guards are considered Shooting Guards but I feel sure that they could play Point Guard just as well as Francis , which of course is not saying too much. I am just a Rockets fan posting on this Forum why would you consider any fellow Rockets fan an enemy, after all we are just having fun and entertaining ourselves. Surely we are in this because we believe in the Rockets and want good things for our Team. With such a common cause between us all, if my posting has caused you to feel hatred then I appologise.

Taylor is basketball bright? Perhaps blight is more right.

Why is everyone dissing Stevie on JVG? He'll try him, he'll like him...as a coach, a winning coach.

Because, based on my observations, I view him as a selfish, whiney, tempermental player. Others don't and that is O.K. We can live with differences of opinion, can't we? I doubt either of us know Francis personally. We might both like him if we did. It is Francis the basketball player that I don't care for. Apparently you don't think too highly of Taylor.

    And your point is????

Was the article accurate or not? In the end, that's all that matters. Not past articles about Yao.

    ...I'm waiting...

Again, is your real name Keith Jones? Maybe Larry Smith?
