Lol at Tania getting Arian's cold shoulder...Arian loves attention and is really a media wh^%&...This little hissy fit that he is throwing is just that...an attention seeking self promoting act. Maybe all of this is a response to the offseason media attacks he got for shagging up with a bimbo... All that being said, Arian is well within his rights to be like crass with his responses...I can guarantee you that half of these retrded questions would never be asked to Belicheck...

yeah cause we all saw how that defense was elite.

Face it, it's equally hard to build a dominant defense as it is to find a franchise qb. Dominant defense requires premium players at every position, not just a handful.

Especially when you consider that the Texans are first on the waiver wire. You can bet they will be paying attention to it and watching for any QB that gets cut in the next few weeks.

And again....No one is claiming that Ryan Fitzpatrick is more than just a 1-year stop-gap QB.

If in 5 years we have our franchise QB in place (drafted in 2015) and playing well, no one's going to care that it took a year longer than we hoped it would back in 2014.

True that... A dominate pass rush doesn't automatically make the secondary better ---> See the Rams. And Cushing is the only LB in the front 7 that's worth anything in pass coverage (usually a team only rushes 4 and the other 3 players drop back in coverage).

Are we still over-reacting to the first preseason game? Also, having a dominant defense doesn't require premium players at every every position, I don't know where that idea came from, but it's just not true.

Oh yeah. I saw it up on TMZ when this story broke. It was one of the dumbest things ever.

Man, listening to Arian is rough. Can't stand the dude's attitude......he better produce on the field (which is really all that matters), because other than that there's nothing about him to root for....he just doesn't seem to get he IS an athlete....it's the profession he chose. Deal with hit, collect your checks...and produce on the field.

He used to be one of my favorite players to listen to, and watch on tv when he was interviewed on ESPN etc. So annoying now.

So much misinformation. I thought Fitz was light years ahead of everyone else least week?

C'mon man where did this idea that Fitz is his guy come from? I always thought he was just the best available veteran to bring in until we got our real quarterback. He's certainly not the future and there's zero chance O'Brien has attached himself in anyway to him. Unfortunately at this moment, he just may be the best QB on the roster.

Case has no shot with this coaching staff. I wish for his sake they would just go ahead and release him now so he can try to move on. Not giving him first team reps at this point, under these circumstances, speaks volumes.

But they did give him first team reps just today.

I heard all of them looked bad today. I think we might get an occasional good game from Fitz, but he will be wildly inconsistant.

Yeah but they also said today that Case would not get game reps with the first team. Big difference between game reps and practice.

What is it that's causing our QBs to struggle so much?? Is it the system? I mean, isn't it the coaching staff's job to build a system that will allow players to succeed?? Why bring in a QB that can't run your plays?

It's more than the first preseason game...the defense wasn't elite last year..and it wasn't elite for roughly the second half of the year prior. We can't cover for crap, and our answer to that is a box safety taken in the second round.

It's not like everyone thought this team was a playoff team or an "elite" anything BEFORE the first preseason game, and we're all just changing our minds now. Most didn't think those things. I'd prefer you be right, to be honest. I'll be wrong and enjoy you being right about their elite playoff caliber defense happily!! But I don't see it...

I'm certainly not Arian's biggest fan when it comes to his media games, but I really do think Tania's third question was out of line. Trying to pin Arian for creating a "distraction" for the team with it? Sorry, I don't buy for one second that a single other player in the Houston locker room is bothered by what Arian says or doesn't say in his responses to media. It's a complete "inside baseball" thing for a few among Texans Media who have their egos bruised by it. And I'm fine with talking and even writing about it -- certainly, it is unique and odd. But it's merely a journalism/human interest story... to attempt to paint Arian as creating unnecessary "distractions" for the actual football team is a little ridiculous.

Well I agree that they should be giving him reps with the 1's in games, but I kind of understand why they don't. They don't want to start a QB controversy till they feel like they absolutely need to. Another bad showing by Fitz and I think things are different for game 3.

The defense looks bad when top guys are missing, it's never looked good with Cushing out, he makes THAT much difference.

I agree our secondary looks bad right now, but I'll wait till I see how it looks when our best corner is back healthy and our defensive captain is back out there.
