Rockets send Rice/Taylor and a future first round pick to Atlanta for SAR and fillers. Atlanta gets cap relief next year and a Ist round pick + a reasonably good offensive player in Taylor, Rockets get a decent all star caliber forward who can rebound as well as score.
SAR would be a nice addition, but I don't see the Hawks moving him. Robinson maybe, but not SAR. I'm beginning to think Clutch should just shut down the BBS during the offseason.
actually right before the trade deadline this year, david aldrige said they offered him for griffin in a straight deal. rockets declined
Sure almost any player could be had if the other team were willing to take the raw end of the deal. My statement was meant to be taken in a realistic trade sense. There is no possible way it could have been a straight up deal simply because of contract reasons. These were the rumored proposals: Originally posted by countingcrow. Originally posted by Live
Let me just say that I have been awake for almost 30 hours. And these two threads have my eyes crossed. Im going to bed. By the way I dont think this is a bad trade.
I've been saying it for a minute actually about SAR. The deal I proposed a while back was SAR,Glover and a future pick down the road for Taylor,Mobley, and Griffin. The Rockets then Resign Posey and sign a backup pf for the mle or just let Cato be the backup. Fancis,Posey,Morris/Nachbar,SAR and Yao would be a pretty good lineup. Night in and night out SAR will give you 18ppg and 8-10 rebs while shootng a high fg%, the Rockets will have 3 legit scorers along in the starting lineup. SAR is also a good rebounder and is versitile enough that when you bring in that 4 off the bench, he slide over to the 3 if need be. SAR has 2 more yrs at 12 mill per, but Taylor has 5 yrs at 8mill, and Cat has 4 yrs at 5, so it balances out. When his contract expire, he'll be 28 yrs old. Right now he's only 4 months older than Francis so the team will still be young. I knowalot of people think he's a loser and soft because of the teams he's played on, but some of the same people want Brand and he's been on some sorry teams also. Ming and SAR working the high low game would be very effective on this team. SAR has shown that if he's given Mobleys 14 shots, he'll get you 20pts,8rebs and 3 asst every night. Thats the same production we get from our 2 pf's put together not to mention the shots they take away from the others. Most will say he didn't fare well in the west which isn't the truth either. He's one of the few players who played 1 yr of college and has been productive since day 1. He's non assuming and a good guy with a poor record. I doubt if the Rockets want to give up that much, but i think its addition by subtraction. SAR takes Mobleys 14 shots and the and the 17 shots Taylor and Griffin takes can be redistributed to Ming and the others. Of course I like the idea. On topof that, he's only missed 9 games in 7 yrs.
ATL has no use for Mo Taylor. They will only rid themselves of SAR, for an expiring contract (read: Glen Rice).
