Its not as bad as it seems, but since the city of sa only have 1 pro team, they see no wrong. When Hakeem was kicking the $hit out of Big Dave, it really kind of put a damper on the rivalry. Most people think SA tanked the season to get Duncan, but most think we did the same last yr. Its just like any other rivalry thats going to last a while. In the nba, Dallas,Sa,and Houston will be like arch rivals, so let the hate begin. The problem is, the Rockets have to get to their level before we can talk trash. Its coming, and not soon enough.

Bottom line since the Rockets have been average to terrible for the past 5-6 years or so, fans seem to live in the past all you have to do is glance at some of the topics in the GARM fourm to see it. Rockets have 2 Titles, San Antonio 1. If San Antonio takes it this year they will even up the Rockets. That would not only say that San Antonio is better now but now San Antonio has 2 titles as well. Just look at as loosing your edge to somebody that you always thought you were better than. As for Me I dont really care who wins this series as long as there is an exciting game 7. Im slightly pulling for the Nets but if the Spurs win I wouldnt get that vomit feeling as opposed to seeing Dallas win it

    Fixed.

I hear it rains all the time in Houston. Is this true?

I live in Baltimore and I can say that San Antonio or Houston would be better than my neck of the woods.

    Because they're BORING. BBBBBBOOOOOOORRRRRIIIINNNNGGG!

And this is coming from a New Yorker, not a Texan. A side from the Malik Rose Facial on Mt. r****d and the occcasional RJ and K-MART dunk, the Finals have been SO BORING I just cant stand it. Thanks San Antonio, you just had to go **** up the playoffs anf Finals didnt you. Thanks alot, I mean REALLY mean it. San Antonio is a boring team. Duncan is beginning to look so "Mermaid-ish" these days like SA's hero "The Mermaid" David Robinson. There is simply no "flash" to this team. The Lakers, Kings, Rockets, Mavs are all exciting teams to watch. But when the Spurs are on, I'd rather watch a 24 hour marathon of Martha Stewart Living.

If the Rockets are not in the picture, I'd rather cheer for S.A. because at least they represent Texas... of course, I live in Spurs territory anyway...

I'll put it to you this way......
    1. The Rockets to me are more aesthically pleasing to watch than the Boring Fundamental, David "The Softest 7-Footer Ever" Robinson and the gang of non-shooting, unable to hit free throws rabble that somehow Pop has molded into a championship team. Personally, I'd rather watch the Rockets than that bunch of boring clods.....
    2. San Antonio is a much prettier town. Houston is just a bunch of strip malls and road construction while San Antone has the Riverwalk and a pretty downtown.

hey you should come to Florio's and cheer for the nets!! they're all from the upper east coast there and it's a NJ Nets haven.

or do like i sometimes do and go to a spurs bar and cheer for the nets. nothing like going into the lion's den and smacking him around! :D

    imo:

    1. they are good. sometimes

    2. they are boring, and lack any sort of charisma whatsoever.

    3. they have some very hateable players:

    danny ferry. 'nuff said.
stephen jackson, a whiner who pouts when he gets taken out of the game. sits on the end of the bench. i hate cry babies.
bruce bowen. don't like him, don't know why, but I just don't.
malik rose - see bruce bowen.

Right. Most fans are the same no matter the franchise they support. Yes, that includes your saintly Rockets fans. Until you appreciate that you will remain a blind and bitter individual.

As for the best place to live in TX, I'd have to go with Central Texas.

I don't really hates the Spurs team, But I root against them because I want the Rockets to have the most NBA titles in the state, but the Spurs are about to tie the Rockets.

Another reason it's easy to root against the Spurs is that, With all due respect to MrSpur and Gunawanspurs (sp?), some Spurs fans are idiots.

    1 1/2 <2

-I'll agree that any asterisk attatched to a title is lame, but the Spurs did win the title to a HALF SEASON. They are at 1 1/2. But no doubt they will win 2-3 more if they add a kidd or oneal.

I hardly care about a team's fans because I don't root for a team's fans in a game. There's at least two players on every team in the NBA that I seriously dislike, and there's only one on the Spurs, and that's Ferry. But he's a nobody anyway so it's hardly a big deal. I can't believe anyone would seriously hate a player because they're 'soft' and I certainly can't believe anyone is trying to drop that label on Duncan, league MVP and about to lead his team to a second title in 5 years.

Rockets are at the top of the list. Then, I stick behind my Texas teams. And if they're out, I stick behind the Western Conference teams. I just can't stand the Eastern Conference at all. They suck. It would make me mad to see the Leastern Conference win it all because then people would think they're actually good for something.

I don't post much but this question is something that I've asked myself and realized the answer.
I'm a native Houstonian but I've lived in San Antonio for a few years and I can't stand these Spurs.

    1) They're boring. I'm a huge NBA fan and I'll watch just about any team when its on TNT or ESPN (even Eastern teams) but when it come to the Spurs I dont even watch them when its the only thing on. They play a really boring game. Nice guys, but boring.

    2) They have no heart. This is probably what bothers me the most about them. They have so much talent, so much potential but they don't want the championship as much as the Nets do or many other teams I've seen. They're SO much better than other teams but they play one good game, then they let the other team stomp all over them or let the Nets get by them, then they decide to play hard the next game, then don't play hard the other.... this is the PLAYOFFS! I've never seen team with such little passion. Duncan the quiet leader? He's not a leader at all! This team chokes in the fourth quarter all the time. What bothers me about this is that I want the team to WANT the championship real bad and earn it with hard work and these guys seem to hardly want it. You have to light a fire under their butts in order to get them to work hard. Only when they get beaten do they decide to play and thats not a heart of the champion.

I don't think the city of San Antonio or the people have anything to do with me not liking the Spurs cause the city is nice and the people are even better, but this team really gets on my nerves for their lack of heart .

It's kind of hard to win a NBA championship "without heart." The Spurs closed out the defending champs on their homecourt and made them cry. That was in a game in which it was all but taken for granted that LA would win and send back to SA for a Game 7. They found a way to win in Game 6 in Dallas.

The main problem for the Spurs in this playoffs has been inconsistency due to the youth and inexperience of a number of key players. Stephen Jackson is a guy who can show up with a big performance in a must win like Game 6 of the WCF or he can simply get nothing going. Between Parker and Claxton that's about 4 years max of NBA experience running a team. Claxton also missed a large amount of this season due to a shoulder injury so it's not like he knows this team that well. Ginobili is the most polished of the younger players but he's still learning this league and his own team.
