Yeah, I'm not sure you've been paying attention to Bob McNair and his "high character" crusade. There's no way in hell Winston will ever be a Texan.
Yes that's was very nice. But that's not why he was drafted with the #1 pick. Just the 1st game though I understand that. But so far the front 7 hasn't helped the secondary. The QB has had alllll day.
Its expected... just like if they were looking amazing, there would be nothing but "See, I told you how bad Kubiak was, and how bad Schaub was.... new regime is going places!"... and it would still mean diddly.
The problem is that our first string against their first string didn't look like it was a few kinks away from being functional--it looked straight up inferior. Everybody gets that preseason is meaningless and is more often than not a poor indicator of regular season success, but these performances are how coaches make personnel decisions and see what they have to work with. And very little of it looked any good.
For a defensive end who just has to beat his man and get to the quarterback who was considered a once in a generation prospect _ yea... Cam wasn't. The experts didn't even consider Cam a #1 pick so that's a bad example anyway.
Ahhh yes! That's an even better comparison. Either way, I want to gouge out my ears. Whether that's physically possible or not is irrelevant. I will find a way.
Yes, it looked bad. The point is, if it looked good, I wouldn't be clapping hands with anybody either. If you need any more evidence, just look how "good" this team looked in pre-seaon last year.
