    Or ranchers and grocers start funding and publicizing studies downplaying its impact, or, in regions, states or localities where there are related deaths or incidents, just keep producing and selling beef as if nothing happened, while spending a mint on legal fees fighting regulation and inspections tooth and nail. That you mentally leap-frogged over this more likely, historically documented and objectively deadlier scenario to spew some conformist anti-reform tripe is the real danger here.

    These bugs are common, this allergic reaction is not. It sounds scary but there's little to worry about. I've had dozens of them on me over the years.

    Only good thing I can say about fire ants: they are hell on the tick population.
