I remember Marciulionis. He was built like a bull.

I think James Harden and Manu Ginobili ( in his prime) would be more comparable.

I loved that team. But he looks more like a yoked up Dragic than Harden.

Wow, thanks for the flashback! I have fond memories watching Marciulionis at the old Oakland Arena. No vertical but amazing control and strength for his time. Also, agreed with others saying that he was just a plain pitbull on both ends. Finesse wasn't what one would say when you saw this guy play. All hustle.

I'm having a tough time comparing anyone now to Sarunas. The officiating was different then. He's not really Manu or Harden beyond a vague eurostep similarity. He played below the rim and his 3 wasn't that good pre-injury. If I had to really compare, I would say he was closer to a below-the-rim roided out version of Sura.

Thanks Normalus! You think the NBA included that Bill Worrell clip for another reason? :p

Insanely underrated. He was better than Manu and Harden although James is still very young!

The guy never once had over 20 PPG, 4 APG, 4 RPG in any given season. Harden had all of those things in ONE season the past two seasons. Not sure how you can really argue that he's better than Harden or Manu unless you decide to just completely disregard statistics.

If Sarunas was more fairly officiated, you would've seen some Harden-like stats. He was literally unstoppable and could take over any game. He never took three pointers in his early career because he could get to the rim at will.

And a big congrats on the Hall of Fame. Loved the guy. Too bad he hurt his knee and essentially ended his career jogging back at his war torn home.
