Charles Shackleford (sp?)... is that you???

VSTexas09 is paraphrasing a former New Jersey Net player who said: "Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious."

Dwight is left handed but plays primarily with his right hand except when he shoots jump hooks.

Greece calling Houston, Houston do you copy?

I cannot tell you anything about logistics in regards to this deal but I can tell you that you are about to sign one of the best european small forwards. His only actual weaknesses is that he can't put the ball on the floor. Other than that he is an amazing 3-point shooter, he demonstrates very high levels of energy and athleticism for a european and he is a fighter who just doesn't give up.

You can watch him play against Kirilenko, in the first *big* competition of his career (he didn't miss a shot in the two games of the final four that season):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma_R5ekMKdM

You can watch him go 6/6 from behind the arc and leading his team in the next season in one very important game:

    http://youtu.be/T05iQDqVMlE

And you can watch him save his team numerous times searching for "papanikolaou block" or for the greek terms in youtube:

    https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=παπανικολάου+τάπα

Again, removing the logistics from the discussion, I believe this is a very good addition for Rockets. I cannot say whether he can become a starter or not, eventually, but he is definitely NBA bench material right here right now.

Oh, and by the way, we used to call him "Kostakis" (meaning "little Kostas") a couple of seasons ago because he looked like he wouldn't reach his potential but after he showed us what he has we started calling him "Kostaras" ("big Kostas"). But I guess "Pap" or "K-Pap" might be easier for you guys, I am sure he'll like that too. ;)

P.S: You've got yourself some more greek fans too, from Peiraeus, Greece. I mean, Beverly, Dorsey and now Pap? Damn, guys! :D

    Joey Dorsey's running mate?? haha

Great for the FO to increase their offer because the remaning FAs are not looking good.

If the FAs don't want to sign with us, then we look to the European leagues to sign our role players.

I hope we roll a line up of Donatas Motieujunas and Kostas Papanikolaou for plenty minutes on the floor at the same time.

sounds like trade bait to me... after depleting his 'assets' DM needs a couple contracts with some meat on them and upside to swing a deal... Aint no way Morey is paying a 6pt/3 rebound (in euroleague) player nearly 5M a year and only have him under contract for a max of 2 years... not seeing it... he wouldn't pay that unless he thinks Papi could explode - and if he thinks that, he'd tie him up longer...
    Wasn't Milwaukee interested in Papi?

    i really like this deal.

    1) why not overpay this season? the money wasn't going to be spent anywhere else.

    2) second year team option / NG = maintain cap space for next summer AND trade bait contract.

    3) he fits as a 3&D backup at the 3/4 spots, which were our weakest positions last season.

Ha. That was the joke JR. Didn't Clyde and bull say something like this during a broadcast last year?

    That's what I'm wondering...

A guy who couldn't make an impact in the euro league is now our answer at the backup SF spot? How does that make any sense?

6 points and 3 rebounds in 25 minutes in the euro league... I just don't see how that's going to help us.
