    What's your agenda?

    Your post is just speculation.

    This story is so weak.

I was in Chicago for work when they were playing the Bulls and I actually ran into them a few times. I saw most of the team (including Harden) coming out of Geno's East. James, Bev and Chandler went out together after the game. They were all taking pictures together on those citi bikes.

I did not get the impression that there was any sort of division AT ALL. Except Omer was pretty much separate from everyone tho.

(i know - cool story bro. etc.)

DMO is getting more attention than he's used to now that he's back home playing for Lithuania. When he is in Houston, nobody cares for his opionion- he is background noise. Now that he is talking with his Lithuanian media outlets, he feels like he's on top of the world. Our big NBA guy, playing with all these NBA all stars....tell us all about it.

Then instead of speaking from his mouth, things start blowing out his ass. Similar to Spanoulis when he went back home.

...oh, and +1 for Studogg (the troll hunter).

?? No agenda. My post just outlined information we heard before about Dmo wanting playing time and being frustrated with the Rockets because of it. We heard this many times over the course of season.

DMo wasn't happy with his role last season and is disgruntled.

Harden/Howard spending time/eating with their teammates was all over social media last season, plain as day.

More disgruntled player generated drama that has nothing to do with Harden/Howard, although the media will make it seem that way.

Definitely not what you want to see from DMo, I am disappoint.

Almost every player has his personal agendas. Guys like Juwan Howard in Miami-- a veteran who already made his money and knew that he did not have much in the tank to serve as anything more than insurance and a practice body-- maybe come closest to being "agenda free." Other ring-chasing vets with more left in the tank (Mike Miller, Battier, Ray Allen) are also likely to have team winning as a goal over some of the individual matters. But the rest of the NBA, especially young guys who are working hard at establishing themselves and earning that 2nd contract, have individual desires and goals.

The trick in team building is getting players with their agendas to also function towards a common goal. It's not just a matter of asking guys to "sacrifice" themselves at the alter of team glory, but also a matter of finding ways to have the players achieve their individual agendas while helping the team win. It's hard enough to find actual talent in the NBA. The job gets even harder when you limit yourself to only "agenda free" players.

The Spurs did this very well last season, finding ways to let guys like Patty Mills and Kawhi Loenard -- young guys working for a new contract-- shine and allowing Boris Diaw to be Boris Diaw while fitting Boris Diaw into the team's scheme. They can't possibly do this with every player since no team runs a 15 man rotation and some guys no doubt wanted more minutes than they got, but they really found ways to incorporate the talent of many very differently-skilled players rather than just asking them to adapt to playing with Duncan/Parker/Ginobili.

I don't think DMo's comment meant to say that Howard and Harden ALWAYS try to avoid their teammates at meals. How can you even do that as a team?

My interpretation is that DMo doesn't think H&H have buddy-buddy type of relationships to most of the teammates, which is no big deal. The context seems to be comparing his relationship with Lin and with H&H. So it is a "relatively speaking" thing.

But you know how the media is running with it. It's just another piece to the H&H-think-they-are-too-good-for-the-rest-of-their-teammates narrative, when a simple glance at social media can tell you that isn't true. It just really annoys me, esp. when it comes to Dwight who seems to go out of his way to foster good relationships with his teammates.

After listening to the interview, that was poor translation. Motiejunas never said that Dwight or Harden eat alone. He was asked about food, does he go out and eat together with Dwight/Harden, he said no, they like different food. It sounds like Motiejunas is more of a gourmet type, oysters were mentioned.

DMo needs to start being more selective with who he gives interviews to. It sounds like they deliberately "mistranslated" it so that it would get more attention.

The guy whose tweets were posted is unrelated to the radio station. It's just some college student who's a freelance journalist.

Good post. There's not need to jump to conclusions, everybody knows things sometimes get switched around in translation.
