It was just a diplomatic reply. As far as he knows, Harden and Dwight don't dismiss role players' value, they understand that they can't win without role players. Then he goes on to say that it's been proven many times that Dwight and Harden can't win without help.

It didn't look like some statement about Dwight's or Harden's great leadership abilities, nor was it a criticism. It didn't seem close to "dwight and harden always make the other players feel needed and respected."

In general, he sounds frustrated in that interview, especially when it comes to coaching and play time promises.

Maybe. I sometimes don't visit GARM for months, so I wouldn't know these dynamics and how often someone says something. He tends to say a lot of things that make sense, though.

I didn't want to overpay Parson, not even at 12M. But this is an idiotic statement. It would be logical if the management says so. The way NBA max salary is structured based on the number of years a player is in the league is not entirely all that is to a player's perceived value on the market. At 15M, there are not many teams, probably only one team is willing to take on Parsons. At 15M, all 31 teams would flock to get Harden's service. I don't think Harden does not get that.

then you need to re-read my posts. you're not discounting what I was arguing against. if anything you're still backing it up.

CH was using an abstract to make an argument against Harden when it should not be portrayed that way. If anything Donatas (who does have problems with the rockets org as you well know) took no shots at Harden and instead implies that they know they need the whole team to function. simple as that.

    anything else is semantics.

I agree that a majority of his non-bias posts make sense and only adds positively to the debates and discussions here on Clutchfans as shown by his rep bar. It's just lately it seems he's been on a smear campaign with his bias posts against Harden and it gets old quickly.

Did Carl say that Donatas took shots at Harden? If so, I think he's wrong.

But from what I read, I think it's possible that you missed Carl's point.

Anyway, I replied to your post simply because I wanted to correct translation of that bit of interview -- "dwight and harden always make the other players feel needed and respected" is just much more positive than what really was said in the interview.

his implication was that harden's ego was too big to justify bringing on someone making more than him as he's already the second highest paid player and wouldn't stand being the third.

The James Harden and Dwight Howard quote eating by themselves throws me off. Especially for Howard, I believe he loves his teammates so I cant see him isolating himself from the team like that. I'm thinking DMo is blowing smoke. Harden maybe not so much but still DMo probably feels like that because not many players probably want to sit next to him first.

I watched 2 games live last year in NY, I was behind Rockets bench and could see Asik & Motiejunas together at the end of the bench, apart from the rest of the team. Basically didn't cross a word with any teammate during all the game.

Asik was not playing by then, Dmo seemed to be his best friend. Well, I remember Jeremy speaking with Dmo and thats it.

What I mean, if you ask Pat or Chandler, I very much doubt they say that about Harden & Dwight. But certainly Harden looks more independent than Dwight.

That's why the team needs veterans, like Ray Allen, like Marion. We are not getting them.

What if it's Chipotle or Subway? Lol they're professional athletes. They can consume almost anything and be fine... I'm sure they're not rolling up to Jack in the Box or taking a Little Caesar's pizza home.

I seen that is a few games I attended as well. I also remember DMO being unhappy about his minutes and wanted out. Looks like he is trying to convince the Lakers to make a trade for him. Since they don't have a quality big man and his opportunity to get meaningful minutes starting at the PF. Plus his buddy Lin is over there.

Dwight "more candy than Homer" Howard? Harden, it's not really a big deal yet, but Dwight is hitting that age where yeah, it'll matter.

I really have no idea why sitting alone to eat is a big deal though

But Howard is a workout junky so right now it doesn't really matter. But once he stops hitting the gym, here comes the extra pounds.

I've never liked D-Mo. This just adds more fuel to the fire.
