I agree. I was never someone saying he should wait on us. A more mature person would find a better way to handle it. "Mr. Cuban, let's handle some business in a business setting." We can just disagree about this. Not a big deal to me, really. I hear you, and I promise the entire BBS: this is my last Parsons departure post! Everyone should celebrate. But here's my stance: I'm an etiquette guy. There's a right way to do things, a right way to carry oneself. I truly believe that. If you are leaving an employer, your first gesture is to that employer, *especially* one that gave you every opportunity to establish yourself. He had enormous playing time and a green light from Milk Hair. That's pretty good, and a more mature person would have acknowledged it from the get go. The way someone handles this says something about them. I'm not butthurt, but I'm a bit judgmental when it comes to these sorts of things. It's really not a big deal to me, in the end. I entered this thread trying to explain why I think people are extra mad about this. Moreover, I admit it's pretty subjective. I just enjoy disliking a few players on other teams as much as I really enjoy liking the guys on our team. That's kind of the bottom subjective line to this. If I found a way to dislike Rolando Blackman (who seemed really cool), then I can mos def find a way to dislike Chandler Pretty-boy Parsons. Chandler, try this next time: "First off, I want to give love and thanks to the organization that had faith in me, drafted me, and gave me such an enormous opportunity to prove myself to the league. I am so blessed. I found myself in a great situation over these last days: either I was going to a new exciting situation, to a team with amazing players, or I was going to stay with a team I already love, with friends and talent all over the place. So now, I wish Houston and my friends the best, except when I'm playing them. It's hard to leave Houston, but I am *really* excited about Dallas and what I can accomplish with coach, with Dirk, Monta and the whole organization there." If it takes three tweets or whatever, so be it. PS -- should I know this woman he's been spotted with? Is she an actress? Reality TV star? Pron stra? Agent?
Technically, that's old news..but since signing that new deal he's been seen with her, Trachtenberg, and now Perri. I wonder who's next..
Fake Celebrity Flirtation of the Week: Chandler Parsons and Kendall Jenner I wonder if the guy they thought was his "agent" was actually the dmoswag guy.
This is old, but I don't see it in this thread. Jalen really goes off on Parsons and his chasing of celebrity fame. Starts about 10:30. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/3EL7ptL5-t4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
^^So Parsons was really trying to be on The Bachelor? i don't remember that leaking out, but that list of fame is certainly getting long.

He always seems uncharacteristically awkward when brought on TV as a personality. Hopefully he can compose himself on that show.

Well...he did act like he was the best SF in the Portland series. Turns out his acting isn't any good
Talked to someone on the Rocket's coaching staff the other day, he had a few interesting things to say about Chandler: 1) He's lazy. Called him very talented but extremely lazy and didn't give his all in practices. 2) He's egotistical. Said only cared about getting his and making sure his fame grew. 3) He wasn't really a favorite among teammates, and his friendship with Dwight seemed to hit some bumps on the road as the season went on. I think its very strange given that he was one of the captains on the team. I'm sure there's more to it behind closed doors but this seems to back up what Dwight was saying about egos after the Portland playoff series. Sad because Chandler has the talent to become really good, if not a great player. If only he started using his other head more.
^^^ Seems like one of those things that happen in the NBA: Contract year leads a player to look out for himself at least a little more. The incentive is especially there when a guy hasn't been paid anything yet by NBA standards. As I said before, Parsons is a smart guy and figured out that offense get you paid in the NBA market place. If he was 20% better on defense but scored 20% less points per game, I bet he doesn't get paid $15M per year. So, he adjusted his energy allocation accordingly. It's all about efficiency. Moneyball isn't just for team management.
