    Probably already been discussed, but,
"I'm the Franchise like a Houston Rocket, ya know what I mean?"
Bad Boyz soundtrack, "La la la" song.

When he says,"ya know what I mean," The "I mean" part sounds like Yao Ming.

In his music video "Excuse me, what your name" he picks up a news paper and Yao's face was the front page head lines.

Also in one of his songs, he says something about the "Dynasty" and then says "no, its not Ming".

    yes, alot of connections there.

The Rockets is Jay-Z's favorite team (or atleast one of the). He's stated that in several interviews. That explains all the Rockets references.

A lot of rappers like the Houston Rockets. Main reason is Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley and Yao Ming. I remember I was at a Rockets game and I saw a lot of celebs there>Ja-Rule,Irv Gotti and Ashanti, and Jay-Z and the whole ROC-A-FELLA! Scarface has courtside season passes to Rocket games and when those big stars are here they like to go hangout in Houston with the players after the games i remember Ja-Rule had a big b-day party in Houston and after the game later that night Steve,Cat,Posey,Moochie and members of the Milwakie(spellCheck) Bucks were in attendace!!! Houston is a HOT COMODITY (literally)

that has nothing to do with yao ming...he's referring to the ming dynasty that used to rule china...

Hey, if Beyonce told me to become a Spazz fan...I'd probably move to SLC. GO STOCKTON AND MALONE!!!

I think he's obviously alluding to Yao. Why would he be talking about chinese history? Or if he was, why not Zhou? Or Qin? Yeah, I know the Ming Dynasty was the most famous, but why would rappers write about ancient Chinese dynasties? Please, he's referring to Yao Ming.

actually he says "you know what I mean", he just pronounced it so it would sound like yao ming.

Being that the Ming dynasty is the most famous and it works with Jay-Z's lyric, there's a good chance it has nothing to do with Yao. You'd be surprised what rappers include in their rhymes when you stop underestimating them.

Hey, Pac refer to makaveli and makavelian philosphies in his lyrics so i wouldn't be surpriesed. But I think JZ was still talking bout Yao.
